Discipline is never bad. There's nothing wring with working out when you're sore. A lot of people think that letting the muscle fully recover is the only way to
build muscle. Not true. You can also gain by slowly adapting to a higher workload (essentially you'll be overtraining slightly for a few weeks) and that helps work capacity in the long run.
