MSM, Triflex. Is It Necessary?

I've had major knee surgery a couple of years ago and still experience some soreness from time to time running. Plus joint soreness runs in my family. I'm 28 and I do lot's of cardio espescially running. I went to GNC yesterday to buy some Glucosamine Chondroitin and the lady told me about their combo product called Triflex. Being a mixture of Glu/Chon and MSM. She couldn't tell me exactly what the MSM did or how it would be any more beneficial that just the Glu/Chon. It's alot more expensive to buy the Triflex or the MSM seperate. I can get the Glu/Con for $20 or less for a month.

Which would you guys recommend and can you tell me more about MSM.

thanks - jay

Methyl-sulfonyl-methane (MSM) natural nutritional supplement that supplies biologically-active sulfur. Many researchers believe that sulfur, the eighth most abundant element in the body, is a sorely neglected mineral nutrient and plays an indispensable role in human nutrition. It use goes back to people soaking in sulfer hot springs to relieve arthritis pain and inflamation. MSM is tought to provide for: Inhibition of pain impulses along nerve fibers (analgesia)
Lessening of inflammation
Increase in blood supply
Reduction of muscle spasm
Softening of scar tissue

THE glucosamine chondroitin is about $20 whereas the triflex is $36. do you think it's worth the extra money for a one month supply?

It takes the glucosamine/chondroitin combo several weeks for the effects to begin to be noticable. I believe the MSM bring pain relief relatively quickly, so adding it to a joint supplement is pretty logical. Try it for serval weeks and see if it works for you.
