Old protien powder and creatine.

Hi,

I stopped weight training a few years ago and ended up with several boxes of unused/unopened myoplex deluxe protien powder and a few pounds of creatine powder. They are atleast 3-4 years old (from mfg. date). What should I do with them? Is it safe/effective to still use them? AFAIK, they do not have any expiration date imprinted anywhere on the labelling. I would hate to throw away about $200+ worth of supplements...

Thanks.

I had the same problem with a jug of protein, I went ahead and tried it and 3 times straight I got stomach pains.

I don't recommend it.

Creatine might be ok, I don't know.

Thanks. Does EAS take old boxes back if they are unopened?

I'd doubt it... my protein powder was EAS as well. Still use EAS, but this time I'm going to make sure I finish the tub!

The creatine should be fine, but the protein normally has a recommended use date about 2 years after purchase...But I have never seen a expiration...there is really no way it can become contaminated if it is sealed....it is all dried protein....I guess you could try the Protein and see what happens....But I think I would pitch it and just get some more...creatine will be fine though.....
