Optimum Nutrition (ON) Double Rich Chocolate Taste
I've been drinking this stuff for about a year now. I had a 5lb tub last summer and went through a 10lb bag since then. Tastes great. I just depleted that supply and picked up 2 5lb tubs. Had my first shake tonight and...it doesn't taste that great. Not bad, but not the rich, smooth chocolate taste I've been used to. Did they change their formulation or something, or is it possible I got a bad batch?

huh, i have no idea—i just started taking that stuff, same flavor too. i used to sell suppliments and i have to say maybe once every couple of months i would get a return becuse the customers shake didn't taste right. i'd exchange it for the same brand and everything was fine. i also used to make shake demos and once found weird little black specks in the protein power, turned out it was bugs.
sorry for the long winded answer, but what i am trying to say is it is possible to get a bad batch...do they have an exchange policy from where you got your protein?

Been using it for years. They did change the formula when they switched to the "Gold Standard" but I could not tell any difference in the taste. Sometimes a store will rotate older product to the front of the shelf. If it tastes funky take it back and swap it out. |

I haerd that their prices are skyrocketing as of late...
Dude from my gym owns a nutrition store and he quit selling the ON Whey because he said ON is just constantly raising their prices

i think it is pretty rare. i don't think the powder was stored properly either, and no one knows how long it had been sitting there....yuck! |

Not rare at all. The FDA has an allowable limit of certain bug parts in many food products. The fact is that you eat bug arse every day. Think of it as xtra protein. |

I find it adds flavor mmmmmmmmmmmmm bugs, not a big fan of the rat hair or feces though

I've read a lot of complaints about the taste after the recent "gold standard" change. I tried the gold standard vanilla and it tasted like ass... I still enjoy the chocolate mint though  |
