Protein sticks to the side of my blender!

When I make a shake, protein sticks to the side of my blender every time! I have to use a spoon to scrape it off, and then continue blending. I've tried putting the protein in first, and the liquids after, or vice versa.... same problem every time. Has anyone come up with a good workaround for this?

Well I find that if you put the powder in first and then pour the milk in real quick and then slam the lid on and blend it doesn't stick as much, also it seems to stick more with water than with milk...also if I blend with dextrose I find it sticks less too. Failing all that let it stick...down your shake, then fill the blender with water and down that...at least thats what I do, not as if I can let that lovely protein go to waste....

when using milk, blend the milk on its own for a few seconds so it goes frothy, then put your powder into the centre of the blender bowl and it should sink into the froth, put the lid on strait away and blend it up. i find this works a treat!
give it a go

That's why I don't use a blender. I mix my protein in a shaker and I always use a spoon to get every last little bit of protein.

Ah well, I was hoping that I was missing a simple solution to this problem. Since I use water instead of milk, I guess I'll just have to keep on scraping the sides o the blender. Thanx for your tips, guys.

I noticed if I start the blender out on it's slowest setting then take it up to it's highest, it doesn't splash the protien to the side as much. But when I set it on liquify from the start it splashes protien all along the side of the blender.

When i used to blend mine inside of the blender i filled it with the water first and then pour'd "little by little" the protein from the scoop.I also started it on chop first because i put a couple ice cubes in it to give it a thick feeling and then put it on puree. NO stick after i started doing that.

I'm with Supreme—first liquid, then (with the blender running) very gradually add your protein powder. I never have a problem with the powder clumping up on the side UNLESS I get in too much of a hurry and dump it too fast.

Another effective technique is to add the protein to your liquid in a shaker cup. Shake like hell, then pour into your blender for further mixing. I ALWAYS add (non-fat) cottage cheese to my shakes — about 2/3 cup.

Well, tonite I managed to make a nice tall shake with no protein stickage. What I did was grind up 8 to 10 ice cubes first. Tossed the protein in the middle of the icepit, dropped in 6 ounces of cold water, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, and 1/2 cu yogurt and 1 banana... blended up nicely with no spoon scrapage of the blender necessary. I think the secret was the ice coating the walls of the blender, and the water being put in after the protein. We'll see if I can repeat that feat tommorrow. Thanx for the input, all..

I never used to have a problem with it sticking to the side until I changed powders, It troubled me for a while then I realised I could remove the middle of the lid of my blender.....so I put everything in besides the powder and turn it on then pour powder in. No more stickage.
