Question

question about protein

I'm still taking a break on weight lifting, but I'm wondering what's the best protein to take throughout the day? Even when I was training, I took whey protein throughout the day and on days that I had off from training. But since whey digests so fast, is taking just whey after a workout, and taking another type of protein during the day when you aren't training the best thing to do? If so, which protein is best to take during the day when not training? I would imagine you would need a slower digesting protein throughout the day when not training. Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

A blend of them digests the slowest.

With carbs, even slower.
With carbs and fat, slowest.

I would suggest getting some solid proteins in if time permits it, like chicken/turkey breast or some lean red meat (if you are not an a diet).

A few eggs (or egg whites) in the morning will also get the amino's running in the bloodstream. Try to use powders only when you are short of time, or some whey directly after you've finished training when you really need to flush your system with easily absorbable amino's.

If you need to take powder, try to mix whey with casein
