Supplements overkill for my level of workout?

Hi, i'm pretty new to all this, and have recently considered getting some Creatine & Whey powder (partly becasue I don't really have time to make proper meals during the day).

Anyway, my rough routine is here

Would using Creatine & Whey suppliments be overkill for me, and could they have a negative effect (i.e. make me fatter?)

Grateful for any feedback

creatine and whey is always a plus, and shouldnt make u fatter if your training right. didnt really look at your train sched but as long as you keep a consistent training routine, without a doubt creatine and whey is a plus. as of negative effects, whey i cant think of any off the top of my head, (as long as your training) Some creatine sides might consist nausea, stomach upset, dizziness or weakness, loose stools, diarrhea, muscle cramping, weight gain and dehydration. These generally occur with dosages greater than 5 grams a day. So try to keep yourself from blasting mega doses of this stuff or you’ll be sitting on the pot for a long while. And drink pleanty of water, you shouldnt have any problems

Thanks for the reply.

Since I posted that, I read somewhere that it isn't a good idea to start taking supplients until you've been training for about 1-2 months, so I think i'll leave it for a while, then once I feel that i've got a good regular routine going, I think i'll then start on the suppliments

Dietary supplementation is only necessary if you're not getting what your body needs from the 'normal' food that you introduce to your body. If you're not getting enough protein to support tissue turnover and lean body mass growth, then simply add some to your meal plan. Whether that comes in the form of a powdered supplement or not won't make much difference. Supplements are frequently a 'convenient' way of creating a responsible balance. First, however, you must learn what 'responsible balance' means. Save your supplement budget and study up first!

I understand what you're saying. At the moment, I don't get a good balance at all heh! I end up scoffing my face after my workout (tuna sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt, dried fruit etc) Then i rush into work, feel bloated, and generally don't eat anything for the rest of the day....! Great diet eh!!

The timing, balance, and volume of each meal is important. It sounds like you could benefit from some effective nutrient distribution. :

Yeah, tell me about it! At least I can realistically see me making some shakes up in the morning, and then having them throughout the day, I just don't really have much time to do anything else... Damn crappy shift work
