Great piece. I enjoyed hearing the other side of the story, finally.

I'm not currently using any steroids, but when I am older I do want the choice to be able to do so without being labeled a criminal. I think it's rediculous how congress has taken such a stance against steroids... and frankly it's rediculous how the majority of people think that steroids are death sentences.

Roids don't necessarily mean death. There are side-effects that are to be expected, as with most powerful drugs. The only really bad effects that are associated with steroid use would be an enlarged heart or cancer.

Can you post the studies behind the cancer side effects or is this second hand information?

My biology teacher from high-school told me about a buddy of his who got a gigantic tumor in his chest from roid use. :/ Once you take steroids it is permanently in your DNA and you can have **** happen years on down the line.

Hes wrong no cancer has markings that show it to be from steroid use. It was coincidence cancer is highly prevalent

Maybe... the guy was an idiot and I couldn't stand him. I did my senior project, a bull**** assignment to show what we've gained through high school, on a workout program with like a 10 page report on every aspect of weight lifting and body building and the ****er barely passed me. He also asked me if I took steroids which made me want to punch a hole in his head.

I've never had violent thoughts towards someone for simply asking (I've felt mad about it) I've passed those feelings though, why get mad for someone asking, heck I respect someone asking, I really respect another lifter asking cause it seems to be the whole "who cares, it's their busness crap".

Since I ain't a muscle head looking guy, it's obvious I don't, but to some regular peeps who don't know better, I usually just say, I have nothing in common in reguards to strength training with someone going that route.

If I'm still being questioned (has happened) I just say that stuff is for the hero worshipers, geeks, dorks, and ego lifters, not myself.

It was the way he said it and his attitude. The guy has an attitude problem and I dislike him. I'll never have to see him again though so I'm good.
