do u just slam the shake. I know when i used to do that i would get a huge spike then just fall asleep now i drink half right away then sip the other half for 30-60 minutes. How big are the scoops of the carbo powder? regular protein scooper if so you are taking in a ton of carbo powder.

Before being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes, every afternoon I would have to lay down and take a nap because I would get so sleepy. I didn't understand why. After I was diagnosed, my doctor asked me if I was unusually tired. She said that after eating lunch, my blood sugar was so high, it was causing me to get sleepy. As Paul said, he would fall asleep as a result of the huge spike. So it sounds like your spike is pretty big and it's causing you to get sleepy. That could be all it is but it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to you doctor and get a blood lab done just to be on the safe side.

the sleepiness after eating is called "postprandial depression" and, like they said, indicates you're taking in too much carbs for your system to safely handle.

i'd go with the suggestion of just sipping it over a long period of time, rather than sucking it back in one shot - you'll get more benefit from it anyway.
