Weight Gainers

are they worth the money? If so what brands or does the brand even matter?
Also, When is it the best time to take them?

Most weight gainers on the market are usually filled with cheap ingredients and/or sugar just to get calories. I would much rather opt for a homemade weight gainer, such as some whey + oatmeal (grinded up with a coffee bean grinder) + Olive Oil (if you want to add some fat).
This would be cheaper and has higher quality ingredients.

its better just to make your own, and probably alot more inexpensive becuase most of the ingredients are common household foods. Ive found out that weight gainers that you buy are to much to put down, its just easier to make your own. :

I'd be careful with them, you don't want to take their listed serving for the most part, its insane to be getting 800-1000ish calories in one shake, and they also aren't made with nutrition as a primary concern, so make sure to look what is in any weight gainer you're looking at before you buy it. It may just turn out to be a bunch of sugar and whey protein.

Also, if you DO go by the recommended servings, most weight gainers last ab out half the time that a tub of whey does, because you are usually using about 4 scoops per shake rather than 1-2 (and only getting the same amount of protein with those 4.)
