Weight Loss "drugs & supplements"

I found this interesting article in WebMD about weight loss drugs, including ephedra.

The article talks about how apparently health individuals can have adverse side effects from easily-obtainable 'natural' preparations, -- and for those who are "pro" the article also discusses how ephedra and other supplements can be used safely, that it depends on many factors, including if the person exercises heavily (which is contraindicated -- so exercise is okay but not heavily), high BP, humidity or exercising in hot weather, heart problems, dehydration, skipping meals,... if you think about it, many people prone to these weight loss "miracle" drugs are probably also going to be trying to do the quickies such as over-exercising, skipping water, taking diuretics, skipping meals, under-eating, etc....

You know, when you think of it, it makes sense if you dissect it more comprehensively into what OTHER behaviors people are prone to, and not look at one single factor, such as just ephedra or just usnic acid, etc... Take a look at the whole pic.

(There, hope I did that one right).

Ephedra followup

Hello All!!

I'm new to this site so here are my thoughts on this subject.

Many of you have read the negative effects of ephedra MaHaung, etc. These ephedrine like properties are also found in common Sinus Psuedo tabs. So basically, One asprin, a cup of coffee, and a sinus tab will do the same thing!

Yes, I've also read all the research reagrding heart damage, etc. But there may some hope out there to help reverse these problems. Has anyone read the labels on the latest craze "OXYDR.." & "OXYC.." supplements? Their claims state that they can reverse these effects, by oversaturating the body's cells with oxygene. The main ingredient in these supplements is Crendulin.

The research I did on Crendulin on:

www.supplementwatch.com

shows that this is an ancient old supplement used in Russia for centuries called : RHODIOLA

Now if you want to purchase the "OXYD-OXYCU." supplements they usually cost about $80 for a one month supply.

I found Rhodiola for $11.00 on

www.iherb.com

Both my husband and I have used this supplement for 2months, with fantastic results!! We don't get burnt out as easily, and it mat seem weird but, WE FEEL GREAT!!

Anyway, research, try, and you be your own judge.

I don't like to suggest any particular brands, just try the "GENERIC"...LOL

Lotsa Luck! Daddysgirl
