I am a first time lifter, i just started tonight. A friend of mine who is nowmy lifting partner, is helping me with my workout, i was wondering is there anything i can take supplement wise, besides pills because i cant swallow pills? Maybe someone out there can shed some light for me. jb

the supplements most recommended here on this board are creatine, glutamine, and basic whey protein. None of which are pills. (or I should say, none of which HAVE to be pills because I know I have seen creatine pills on the market)
But, in my opinion, unless you've got one killer diet you should be taking a multivitamin as well. If you can't swollow pills can you crush them up and take them with water? Just a suggestion.
perhaps you can find powder substitutions for what you want or look into changing your diet so that you can eat/drink the vitamins and minerals that your looking to get.
i dunno if this works but grinding the pills that you want and taking them down with water, some of these are time released so i dont know about these.
Most pharmacies will probably carry the stuff they give to people who have nutrient deficiencies. It's basically a powder, sort of like an MRP, but it's also loaded with vitamins and minerals to supply RDA standards of these substances. Mix it up with water/liquid of your choice and slug it down. Sadly enough, these thing susually taste like crap though...
If your diet is good enough, you really don't need any supplements* . Supps can help a little, but the diet and the exercise are far more important.
(*said despite having just lived on ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin, HMB, creatine, Vit C, mulit-vitamins, Betalean, MRPs, RTDs, protein bars, and whey protein powder for the last 14 weeks)
I disagree with bsenka's statement. I think vitamins are very important and there is no way (even with the most balanced diet) that you could get enough of vitamins like C or B's to support the bodybuilder lifestyle.
Diet and exercise are definitely more important, but don't underestimate the power of a quality multivitamin.
Seasilver is one of the companies that sponsored this board and they provide a liquid multivitamin. I can't vouch for the quality but it might be right up your alley.
