What do you think about my homeade creatine mix.

I have evaluated a ton of products that are supposed to help you absorb the creatine faster than normal. Most of them while the theory may be good I think they are WAYYYYY overpriced so I figured I would try to get something that would work just as good that I could mix my creatine powder in.

So what I did was take the powdered Gatorade(this has obviously proved itself over the years for getting into your system fast) and make a gallon according to the normal directions then I mixed in 1 1/2 cups of sugar on top of that.

The mixture is very sweet and I am sure contains more sugars than I would rather have in one dosing but when I mix it with my creatine I only use about 2 - 3 oz's max of the mixture so It cant be that bad.

What does everyone else think or do you buy into the whole creatine + absorption system thing???!?!!?

Well you don't want to mix it in advance. Creatine breaks down as soon as it hits water.

It is much cheaper to make your own than to buy a "system". 30g's of sugar (1TBS) and 5 g's of creatine and your good to go. Take with your 200 mg's of ALA for extra credit.

BTW, Gatorade helps absorb water faster, not everything. You've got to mix it with something tasty, so that's fine.

Just look at one of those creatine delivery systems and make your own mix that way. You can get those products at most healh food stores. Dextrose, Lipoic acid and some flavouring.

Sorry for not clarifying. I dont mix the creatine in with the mixture until I am ready to take it. I just made the stuff and leave it in a container then mix in my powder 2 seconds before I gulp it down.

BTW. PROLAB creatine rules!! Ive tried a couple different variations and this stuff is awesome. Even though i am only using two - three ounces of liquid it blends very nicely and doesnt have the least bit of the grittiness (IS THAT A WORD??? LOL) that some of the other brands have!!

There is so much crap out there now that has creatine in it with some other magic supplement that enhances the effects 4,000,000,000 times again and Im just tired of all of the stuff that is obviously just a bunch of marketing hype.

EAS just released there Creatine XT. Who the heck knows what it is suppossed to do better but they even gaurantee it that it works better than just regular powder with sugar water or whatever. BLAHHHHH I think its all marketing.

I usually just take my creatine with grape juice. It gives you enough of an insulin spike to be plenty efficient.

I do... IMO, some of the other "stuff" they put in there is just filler. Get a good creatine like Prolabs or something similar. One teaspoon of that stuff is 5 grams of creatine.. that's what you want.
