I'm thinking of making a shake both before and after a workout.
A large glass sized shake consisting of protein powder, bananas and milk.
For the second shake after my workout, I'll add a heaped teaspoon to the mix.
How does this sound and how does it differ from what you do?

I take 40g protein and 100g carbs a malto/dextro mix pwo over 20 minutes. I would prefer however to take some before and during but stomach doesnt allow that all the time.

I take protein every 2 hours with every meal I have. Whether it be protein from a shake or solid food, I make sure I get protein every 2 hours or so. The amount per meal will depend on your bodyweight, your fitness level and what your goals are.
This is something you need to find out and then apply it to yourself.
As for my workouts, I take a shake both before and immediately after I am done training.
