Whey Protien questions specific to me

Okay guys a few whey protien questions I have decided to start trying this week. I bought a 2 pound tub of prolab (cookies and cream flavor)...yes taste is important lol...to start off.

Back in my hay day protien shakes were different and amino acids were pretty large.

Okay so situation I weigh 289 pounds still slimming down but want to put on more muscle. although 289 pounds witha 42 inch waist (tight mind you) on a 6'2 friend is not too shabby ;-) better then the 342 and 50 inches I started...

Anyway

I weight train 3 days a week (do heavy cardio 2-3 days)....my diet has an intake of about 100-150 grams of protein a day.....

My questions are

1) First is the product ok?
2) What I'm willing to do is use the whey party with 20 oz of skim milk giving me a total of 44 grams of protien per glass is this ok?
3) I will have one glass before my weight workout and on glass after, so it will give me an extra 88 grams on my lifting days is this suffecient?
4) the before and after workout of taking the protein is that good? is there one more important than the other...
5) my evening meals are filled with more complex carbs

thanks for the help.....

I'll answer the questions that I can for you Bronco.

1) First is the product ok?
Pro-Lab = good product
2) What I'm willing to do is use the whey party with 20 oz of skim milk giving me a total of 44 grams of protien per glass is this ok?
44 grams per serving is good. The milk will also help to slow digestion
3) I will have one glass before my weight workout and on glass after, so it will give me an extra 88 grams on my lifting days is this suffecient?
I think you mentioned you are getting 100 to 150 gm/day of protein. At your weight I would probably bump it up to 200 gm/day, assuming you are trying to build muscle.
4) the before and after workout of taking the protein is that good? is there one more important than the other...
I prefer to use a piece or two of fruit prior to my workout and take the protein post workout. But you can use protein pre-workout with no ill effects. You should mix the whey with water post workout so it is absorbed faster.
5) my evening meals are filled with more complex carbs
OK
