Who is taking ALA....???


...and how much are you taking and what effects have you noticed?

Please post your findings.

I started out with 200mg three times a day ( with meals),
Didn't notice much, so I upped it to to 200mg with all meals - that's about 6 or 7 meals a day. I noticed a bit more definition and some size increase. Very excited about the definition! Seems it "lessens" fat build-up.....I wouldn't say it burns fat.....or does it?

I'll try taking a higher dosage in the near future.

Me, but I am cutting. I noticed a lot more with 600mg/meals 5x day.

I am currently taking 300mg w/ meals for my cut and I've lost a little bit of fat this week. I will say however, I am much more vascular again. I can't honestly tell right now. Everyone seems to post phenomenal things about it and I am not noticing much. I think I am going to switch to Metformin for the last four weeks of my cut (it's cheaper). Either that, or double my dosage back up.

It's not really burning fat. It's increasing the receptors on your myocites so more of your glycogen will be pushed into the muscles. Just like normal, if you overeat your receptors can get full and the rest will spill into your fat cells. If you REALLY overeat you have the potential of getting twice as fat because it also increases the receptors on your fat cells. I honestly don't see that as a problem though.

I've felt I get a "pump" now when working out. I never shot for the pump, I just shot for controlled muscle failure and low number of sets.

I plan on keeping with it. I may try some other brands as well. The thing that scares me is most people say when you take it on an empty stomach you get severe heatburn. I've taken 600mg with 2 sips of water and had no problems. Makes me wonder about potency.

We'll see.

Thanx Danugi.....er.....Galileo. Never took it on running empty, so I can't say about the heartburn. But the stuff really seem to have some effect, at least.

Results are best seen if you injest the ALA 15-30 minutes before a meal. That gives it time to set up the receptors before you jam food in there.

I take about 600-800 mg of ALA a day and 6-8 g's of CLA. Definitely is noticable with Creatine absorbtion. Never "sits in your stomach" if I have ALA first.

I take it , after the first 3 days I noticed a very large change in deffinition, and everytime I ate something it didnt seem as if it was being shuttled to fat cells I know your thinking how could I possibly tell, but you an just feel it , when you look at yourself I could tell , I took a pic at the beginning and i look a lot more deffined. I also feel alot more energetic and freash, I take 2g a day

I am also taking it 1000mg/day 2x day (Flaxseed oil). About half an hour before meals. I would also agree with Galileo, I am more vascular. I do notice that if I have any of the "Yer hungry" burps, it tastes like crap.

Hey Steve I have just started today, because of all the good info you have posted here on this board. I was going to start it sooner but because I hurt my back deadlifting I haven't been doing much because I had a hard time getting out of bed, last week I just started some cardio and Xenadrine. Hopefully the ALA will really help, today I am starting gradual lifting. I will keep you posted.
