Why do people say that...
Why do I always hear that weight loss supplements DONT work? I am planning to start a Hydroxycut program, but I am skeptical..

becuase its just caffeine.
they may help blunt appetite and act as a diuretic, but they dont burn fat.
eating frequently and doing your cardio is the core of any cutting plan.

I agree with AC... I tried hydroxy and xenadrine, both when they had ephedra. While they did have some affect....I think... When I went off of them and focused more on HIIT cardio and diet, I got far better results and didn't have to spend the extra money. I figured the added benefit of the efficient cardio and diet far outweighed what I got out of the pills I went thru @ $40 per 3 weeks. Seriously, focus on a good solid cardio routine and diet and you'll be better off.

Nipl, I think it's logical that if you were still doing ephedrine, and also increased your HIIT your results would be even better.

They work to some extent, but they aren't magic pills. Ya gotta eat clean and know what eating "clean" means. Also have to get excercise...but the diet is the more important factor for fat loss, and no weight loss supplement will work very well by itself.

Thermogenics like ephedrine do directly burn fat specifically meaning they stimulate liposis which is the breakdown and release of body fat.
Of course you need to change your diet plan to sustain long term weight loss, else you will just gain the weight back fast once you go off the pills.
They are mainly of benefit if you need to lose weight *NOW* like for competition. They really tend to screw people up with crash diets, as they encourage the binge/purge mindset.

I used hydroxycut to shed the first 20-25 lbs of fat. It gave me the extra mental boost to continue eating and exercising right. It did help out. But as soon as you start eating/drinking poorly I gained the weight right back. It's become more of a lifestyle change for me than anything.

In my opinion they do more bad than good. Irritability, nervousness, unable to concentrate, caffiene addiction, depressing crashes, all for (maybe) a little bit of weight loss.
Not worth it IMO

I tried Hydroxycut for a while and it did nothing for me, but I also keep in mind that eating and exercising properly was nearly impossible. I have a friend I know from the fitness center who uses it and he likes it.
As for finding one with Ephedra, I think there was probably a reason why they took Ephedra and Ephedrine off the market isn't there? Wasn't it causing strokes or something? (I don't keep up with the news that much).
