ZMA Question

My multivitamin, GNC Mega Man, has 25mg of Zinc in it. If I was to take ZMA, an article I read said a good amount in a ZMA supplement would be 30mg, along with say 15mg from foods I eat, this would be giving me 70mg of Zinc a day. The National Institute of Health says the upper limit for Zinc in a day is 40mg.

With Magnesium, the upper limit for a male 20 years old is 400mg. My multivitamin already provides 100mg, and the article says ZMA supplements should have 450mg. This gives me 550mg a day.

Are these numbers too high? Is the fact that I'm on a calorie restriction and cutting going to change these numbers at all (the upper limit that is)? Drinking about a gallon of water a day.

Is it even worth it to take ZMA? I have read the evidence that supports it and it seems to work well. Any thoughts?

If your multivitamin doesn't have calcium in it (unlikely) you could take it at night with your magnesium pill (mine has 500mg so I think you should be fine, goverment numbers are for couch potatoes not lifters like us). Your Zn could be a bit high, try cutting your Zn pill in half, then take it with your Mg pill at night.
