ZMA timing

I want to get this straight, my bottle of the stuff says 30-60 mins before sleep, i've read no more than 30 minutes...

Why does timing really matter?

Why couldnt I have it when I wake up, or right before I go to sleep?

thanks

I take mine before work outs. I don't think it realy matters what time you take it. I have asked similar ?'s with no knowlegable responses. The only thing i have gotten in past post was that zma shouldn't be taken with calcium why? Plus it should be taken at night because it makes you sleepy. There are alot of great so called proven studies that zma benifeits BB's, but i have not noticed any significant gains from supplementing zma.

Do think you got any results with tribulus that's in the Z-Force? I noticed that my test levels were up a little (slight increase in acne on chest... nothing too noticeable)... I had some gains in a few exercises, not sure if it was because of the placebo effect, but they were gains nonetheless.

It may be possible that you weren't deficient in zinc and magnesium to begin with. They say that 7/10 weightlifters are, but you could have been part of the 30% that weren't. Even if you were in the 70% that are, going from being slighty deficient to normal may not have helped you regardless.

Like the majority of things that deal with weight lifting and bodybuilding, it all depends on the individual.

By the way, are you getting better sleep with it Gohan?

The timing is on the bottle because that's how much time it needs to start digesting and reacting in your body, 2 - 3 caps per day...hmm I would just take one during the day dosage, and then the higher (2 caps) in the main dose at night.

in fact its cheaper if you take them all seperately, although there have been some great deals on ZMA online.

I had a quick look on website for pricing of each component. It basically worked out to a similar price, but isntead of a month's supply, say 30 doses. You were looking at 100 doses.

However, does the amount of each ingredient matter as long as its equal to or more than you get in ZMA tablets? I found that say in the Magnesium's case, it came in 500mg tablets, not 450mg as comes in with the ZMA supplement. Im sure you could find exact quantities if you wanted, but does it make a difference?

Another factor is the actual ingredient, I dont know anything about minerals, but the magnesium in my biotest ZMA for instance is aspartate and the Magnesium I found was, Magnesium Oxide. Again, im sure you could find the same one, but does it matter?

I'm pretty sure that the amount of each supplement doesnt really matter as long as you get enough. ZMA is all about defeating a deficiency that supposedly 70 % of bodybuilders have. I dont think that going over by 50 mg for Mag. that its going to effect anything, But if you look at all of the ZMA bottles you can buy they have the same amount of Zinc, Magnesium and B-6.

When i first started taking it i noticed strength gains, but they were probably due to my mindset of taking a new supplement that could possibly enhance my performance in the gym. Most of the light acne on my chest has gone away. I ordered 3 more bottles to see if it helps in the long run they came in plastic bottles instead of the glass ones i received last time. I also ordered some creatine by dymatize check it out.
