Begin Jogging

I need some help developing a good running routine. I most likely need to start out very slow since first of all It's cold outside, and second of all I have asthma. The reason I want to start is mainly for overall fitness, I'm very thin so I dont really need a massive fat burning jog, just something to strengthen my lungs. Also Idk if this information is needed but I also work with weights 4 days a week.

I suggest brisk walking for no more than 30 minutes. If you have access to an uphill route, take it and cut the duration down to 15-20 minutes. Three times a week for starters should be sufficient given your goal.

I define brisk walking as covering one mile in 15 minutes on relatively flat surface. If this doesn't seem tough enough for you then walk faster - as in 11-13 minute mile pace. Adjust these times accordingly if you are walking uphill.

A month of this and you'll be ready for some running.

If you're, say, training for a marathon, yes. But for the average person doing a normal amount of cardio, it will not have an effect as long as you eat for it. IMO, the catabolic effects of cardio are way overblown.

As a beginner you have a lot of leeway. You could do a variety of things of your choosing for a good workout, like pierini said the brisk uphill walk, a slow 30 minute jog, a fast 10 minute jog even. I usually just do whatever I'm in the mood for. If you don't feel like working out just do a quick 10-15 jog. If you've got free time, slow it down and go longer.

As far as cardio affecting lifting, not really. I've only noticed lifting affecting cardio, like when I run a timed mile after a DL or squat day. It usually doesn't interfere with lifting, even if you are still sore.
