cheeks of steel...

So as a bloke i'm not sure if this should be important but always been self concious about my buttocks.. just seems to big

Now I kind of understand that theres no way of losing weight from specific areas of the body, but what are the best excercises for your behind which would tone it up and make it look a bit more appealing?

Toning.... just breaking the idea down a bit. I would imagine you are trying to lose fat while maintaining the muscle mass. The exercises listed here are great, but keep this in mind:

- Nutrition is a HUGE factor to "tone"
- Fat oxidation is best controlled in the presence of good old oxygen (so hit the aerobics...folks around here are pretty savvy when it comes to forms of aerobics).

Fat oxidation?? Theres got to be fitness for dummies somewhere? Yeah thats pretty much the situation with my whole body, losing fat but maintaining the muscle mass.. My first signs of definition are being ruined by my weight, Which isn't in excess but chubby!

Hi Stribs,

I read this elsewhere and I thought of your original post on this thread:

"Oh, yeah, I'm starting to get a bit annoyed by my body fat levels. I know I just have to suck it up while I continue to build strength but it does piss me off a little. A few months back I was told I had the butt of a Greek God, now I have the butt of a Greek cab driver!!!
You are not alone.

Pierini - Good stuff! I'm not sure what a Greek cab driver's behind looks like but we can all imagine, its not what were looking for!

I eat healthy breakfast, healthy lunch, reasonably healthy dinner, then ruin it all with snacks, mainly through boredom... I think i have to get to the weight loss section and start pestering them for answers!

ATG Squats, STL Deadlifts, Lunges, and Glute Ham Raises, you could also do kickbacks on the gay glute machine, but I only see women use those!

Is somone a bit uncomfertable with his sexuallity....

I agree the machine does put you in a somwhat awkward position though, and I find the other exesices you listed more benefitial overall.

I was making fun of the fact, machines are for gurls! I wont lie I did use it a few times, and I liked how my ass looked in the mirror as I was doing them...

The gay machine is fine too. It all works. Just not as well as squats, deads, and lunges.

I've been using the leg press at the end of my workout lately. Not noticing any difference yet though except that I'm having a bit of trouble walking out of the gym. And the position that thing puts one in is very...uncomforatable. I feel all manly about it though because my gf stands guard while I use it and makes lewd comments with each rep.

Before adopting a full body 3x/week routine, I had tried the "gay machine" and I only felt it in my quads.
