A lot of good questions here. First of all, where are you at experience wise?

You will get different opinions on working the abs every day or not. My opinion is that the abs are a muscle like any other muscle and should get a day of rest in between workouts.

You can choose to do a split for weight workouts (in other words, focusing on one body part) or you can do a full-body workout two or three times a week. Both are effective so try it and see which way you like better.

For weight loss, don't forget about cardio, and a nutritious eating plan. If you need help with that, let us know.
