Oh no, Snooki....
So she attributed her recent 15 pound loss to some pill she was taking. Maybe Xenadrine or something similar.
And how many gals are going to run out and chow down on these things now?
(It was only mentioned at the end of the "report" that she's been "working with a trainer several days a week" as well,.....but of course, it's the pills that did it. Aaghh).
EDIT: I edited this just to point out I didn't stick this in the off topic or chat area because I was so flumoxed at the press "the pills" got...

But my point was how somehow no one is going to give the part where she worked with a trainer several times per week ANY consideration. They'll assign all the "credit" of her "successful weight loss" to those bloody ole pills. Just more to contribute to the mush of the brains of the "quick fixers."

Isnt this how the whole supplement industry works?
People attributing their gains to random stuff and not mentioning they are on steroids. The documentary Bigger Better Stronger had a nice segment on this.

Oh I have no doubt. And we here on DF obviously know better. WE here call it " common sense," but I think we also realize how the "general public" gets duped over and over by such similar stuff.
The thing with this Snooki bit rubbed me particularly wrong because sure, I'm accustomed to seeing print, televised or oral presentations by people who are trying to convince others that they got their "after" results because of "Pill XYZ" supplement, implying rather strongly, that that was all they did, and I've learned to harden myself against such bollocks.
With Snooki, I wanted to crawl through the bloody TV and throttle the little bean for what she said. Yep, the first thing out of her mouth was thanking whatever pill she claimed she took. It was only after being queried that she finally, eventually, also mentioned (and did so in a very light, almost " accidental" way like it was a total afterthought and surely not all that relevant, ---- at least not as relevant as those little pills)....that ohhhh, erm uhh yeah, and uhm,... she also worked out with a trainer 7 days a week.
Bah.
HOW the heck on this earthy plane (or any other) can the whole 7 days every week of exercising with a personal trainer possibly be viewed by anyone (Snooki or anyone hearing her) as an afterthought that may or may not have been a contributing factor? I swear no one even picked up on that part of her diatribe.
Yes, yes, I'm flustered. Yes, I try to calm down. But day-yum, it just rubs me when people spout this kind of clap-trap.

the pills wouldnt sell as well if they said that you have to put in the gym/track time. people dont want to hear that they need to actually DO SOMETHING to get results.
you already hit the nail on the head though, gen pop is ignorant to most everything fitness related. hell, go to the gym and count the idiots spending an hour and a half doing nothing but bench, curls, and abs. also, look at late night infomercials. all you gotta do is make something to half ass works, or even LOOKS like it works, then get it endorsed by a pro athlete and have hard bodies using it in said infomercial.

Oh hell yeah. I know that's how it works. The people who market the pills and who bribe people to take their conconctions (with remunation of course) have excellent marketing people who know what "needs" to be emphasized (ie: the "quick fix via pill). Sadly enough many of the "things" (ie: gadgets) marked are a bunch of bollocks too but to the lay person, they'd rather spend six times a gym membership for a useless gadget with false claims,....avoid a personal trainer which they view as either unneccesarry, shark-like in trying to get their money, or only for body builders. Add it up and for what they spend on their silly shakes, supplements and (gag me) "fat burning pills," -- they could get superior results in a third of the time by simply doing,....(ta-DAH!)....the right thing.
Oh I know people want the quick fix of a pill. (You may be too young to remember this, but the fen-phen "diet" was big for quite a while). Hell, sipping strong black unsweeted coffee will do the same bloody thing.
I know we live in a world of instant gratification, but as I said, what frosted my hiney was how she touted those stupid-ass pills for her success (and only many minutes later she squeezed out through her puffed trout lips as an afterthought that "oh yeah" -- she forgot? it wasn't important? it played no "real" part? --- that btw, she worked with a trainer daily).
I'm flumoxed at how many people walked away from that little beans interview and the only thing they retained was: The Magic Pill That Worked For Snooki. I can see her personal trainer now wanting to throttle the little orange tart as well.
We don't get this kind of press because what WE do, while safe, proven, lasting, effective, realistic,....requires (ooohhhh-noooooo)....hard work.... not just swallowing a pill with a drink of water.
I wonder if she ever mentioned the calorie deficit diet she was on too.
Props to Kirstie Alley because at least she came clean.

lol, how old do you think i am? i'm not the most seasoned of folks on the site, but i'm still old enough to remember things like that. i was one of the guys taking that "oh so dangerous" ephedrine when i was in high school. i just wasnt like the idiots taking 3xdaily perscribed while dehydrating myself while running in place in multiple layers of sweats in a sauna to make weight for wrestling/powerlifting.
bringing up fen-phen (and my ephedrine scenario) also brings to light another good point. "magic pills" get the credit good and bad alike. ephedrine was banned for scenarios like the one i mentioned and then finally the dude from the vikings died while on it, but lets for get the fact (assuming memory serves correctly) that he was a lineman (VERY large individual) performing pro level workouts (NFL), while running around 103 body temp, but it was those damn dirty pills that killed him.
maybe i'm off a little on the lineman, but i just got off work, and am too tired to use google to get facts all 100% correct. just going off what i remember.

I assume she is being paid by the pill company and hence is no different from an advertisement in a magazine.

Since based on what I've seen she does do some tough workouts now and then (stair sprints, glute bridges, lunges) all I can figure is maybe she got lazy and the pills made her feel less like laying around and more like working out?
Though you'd think simple coffee would do that.

I have accidentally watched a few segments on one or two episodes, and I couldn't handle my brain going numb so fast, so I never revisited.
But yeah,....natural my tuckus.
