Pre-Workout Supplements
In the bodybuilding supplement industry, pre-workout supplements are becoming very popular. The main supplements that are usually taken prior to working out are caffeine, glutamine and amino acids. These products are intended to help prepare the bodybuilder for a workout and assist in muscle strength and endurance.
Caffeine is a stimulant found in coffee, tea, soda and many other common beverages. Many people get caffeine by drinking these beverages every day, however, it’s also popular in supplement form. Athletes and bodybuilders use caffeine to increase energy levels, reaction times and alertness, as well as endurance. Used prior to a workout, it helps them perform better and stronger.
Glutamine is an amino acid that is common in most protein sources such as meat, poultry, fish, beans and dairy products. It is used in the body to maintain optimum performance. Body builders take glutamine supplements to reduce the amount of muscle deterioration they experience. It is often taken before a workout to ensure that the body’s glutamine levels do not fall and muscles can remain in the best condition possible.
Amino acids are the essential building blocks of protein. When you work out, you need these to assist your muscles to grow. The more stress you put your body through (harder your work out), the more amino acids your body needs because it will not have enough from natural sources. This is where supplements are so beneficial, especially before a workout, to make sure your body is fully supplied with amino acids prior to working out.
Caffeine, glutamine and amino acids are popular to take before working out; however, Nitric Oxide is now seen as one of the most important supplements to take before a workout. As a pre-workout supplement, Nitric Oxide is extremely useful. Since it forces more blood into the muscles, it provides the muscles with more nutrients that they need for a faster recovery during and after working out.
Creatine is another supplement that is often added to pre-workout supplements nowadays. Creatine is naturally found in meat sources and is also produced by the body. Taking a creatine supplement helps your muscles have more energy when you’re doing brief, explosive exercises. It may also decrease muscle fatigue and reduce lactic acid. For all these reasons, creatine is a very popular ingredient in pre-workout supplements.
As with any supplement, be sure to read the labels of any products you’re interested in. You may want certain ingredients while prefering to omit others, depending on your body and your goals. Remember that while pre-workout supplements may all be designed for the same purpose, they can produce different results depending on their makeup.

Quite a nice read, Myself do not use any sups as i believe i can fuel the body with wholesome foods.
Now my son uses creatine and i can see him growing.
Im now to old to be getting real big again, but i did get large with foods only and the only sups i used back then was kelp and alph alpha for nitrogen balance and vit and min sups, But still believe i would still have grown using just my foods

Personally I never had much use for the NOS type supps. They are somewhat useful for helping control blood pressure when other things are making it go up. Creatine IS the stuff though. On my higher carb phase over the next few months I'm looking forward to hitting the creatine again.
Mrs.V. is supplementing with liquid vitamins, Injectable B12, protein shakes, magnesium, and calcium...all required because of malabsorption issues. Yes, I've actually found someone who can do better with liquid nutrition rather than whole food. Imagine that. But...it all has a place.
Supplements though for the most part, the ones that work...will not do it for you. Your hard work and good nutrition do that. If they are part of your good nutrition then they will give you only the slightest edge over going without them.

I used Halo and Nano Vapor from Muscletech and I didn't feel any results now their Celltech gave me some nice results. I read that Glutamine is better to take PWO but I feel that I get more energy when i take it before working out.

Daily Vitamin is all I take. I do have a protein shake right after working out as I don't really feel like eating something right after.

Keep in mind that these supplements are mainly for the purpose of increasing your workouts and helping your muscles recover. It won't build muscles at all if not accompanied with exercise.

As far as bodybuilding supplements are concerned, the pre workout supplement is a relative new comer to the workout circuit.Caffeine, glutamine, and amino acids, where and still are the primary ingredients that assisted in the old school methods of pre workouts.

I tend to be somewhat old school with what out there in supplements. I'll usually just take some HMB capsules with lots of water. I do like creatine, but it tends to bloat me out. The HMB can add some nice lean muscle to your body. Great discussion here.

Well all the organic meals which is loaded with nourishment is complement according to me, So having something organic that doesn't contain anything which is dangerous for us actually, Try to have organic meals as your complement rather then getting grains and tablets....

Bodyweight gainers are items whose main purpose is not to be a substitute for the real meals but rather to offer us some extra organic items that our techniques may need....
