a simple answer...
Good healthy living is the way to go for any young man who wants to improve his health and physique. It's simpler than you think. Make sure you learn how to eat healthy, train properly, rest long enough for your body type and activity level, and drink plenty of fresh water while avoiding unhealthy bad habits. I also believe in keeping the mind healthy too, so stay positive and visualize success. All this takes time. So make sure to take the time you need. It is a process, but a very rewarding one if you look at everything in the proper light. Rome wasn't built in a day, but you sure can start looking and feeling like a million bucks if you just start down the right path and stick with it. Good luck!

If you are actively working out and hitting the gym hard, then you are trying to build muscle and you want to build muscle fast! Results are what you are after, and you don't want to wait any longer than you need to. You want to see what your hard work is doing for you every time you look in the mirror. You are about to find out the best supplements for building muscle so that you can speed your progress!
Before we go any further let me take this time to state the fact that supplements should not take the place of good food or a clean diet. Many people think that its okay to eat lots of junk food in conjunction with muscle building supplements. That is the wrong approach. In order to get the best out of these supplements for building muscle, you should maintain a good diet that is light on junk, sodas and artificial drinks, drink plenty of water, and keep your workouts consistent.
The Best Supplements for Building Muscle to Increase Muscle Growth Even For Hardgainers are:
Whey Protein - This definitely makes this list because it is known to be the quickest to be digested and the fastest to get into the bloodstream. With that being said, whey protein gets to your muscles faster in order to build and repair those muscle tissues that were broken down from a good hard intense workout. This makes whey the best choice to use as for a post workout drink. I personally use whey protein for my pre-workout and for my all important post workout drink.
Whey protein is also an excellent source of the branch chain amino acids (BCAA's) and essential amino acids (ECA's).
Creatine - This is one of the best supplements for building muscle that has come out to the market in years! Creatine is proven to get results! Its effects are evident to the majority to those who use it and I personally can say that i know first hand that this stuff works!
Creatine is naturally produced in our bodies by our liver and pancreas and is transported to our muscles through our bloodstream. Once it gets to our muscles it is transformed into phosphocreatine. The phosphocreatine is then used to make what is our muscles energy source which is known as ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate)
This popular muscle building supplement has been known to increase lean muscle mass and strength in just two weeks! It can also improve performance in high intensity exercises that require short bursts of strength, it can increase energy levels and will also speed up recovery rates.
Creatine also has the ability to really hydrate the muscle cells with water (volumization). This causes the muscles to look bigger and it also helps with muscle protein synthesis.
Nitric Oxide Supplements - These supplements help you by getting more of your nutrient and oxygen rich blood to your muscle cells. It achieves this because NO is a vasodilator meaning it increases the diameter of the blood vessels. Nitric Oxide is synthesized from the amino acid L-Arginine. Therefore, if you are to increase your supplementation of l-arginine then you will increase your amount of NO.
The main benefits of NO are increased recovery rates, increase in stamina, and it is great for getting that serious pump after you finish your workout. The pump is also known to stay around longer when using NO supps.

agree
I agree these are quite important supplements to use to gain muscle weight.
There are others that can help quite a bit too, but these are the great basics and a foundation for all others so a great place to start.
good post.

Nor is there an illegal one. Even those do not really give a shortcut to a great body... they can make one more responsive to training and diet...but like you said, nutrition and training are the keys... and putting in the time in the gym is vital.

You're so patient. I'm hardened to some of this stuff. When I see people who've posted less than 50 posts in general, and definitely less than 20, I lurk before taking the time to reply.
Ergo, my reply is to The V, and not the OP.
Does that make me stuck up? Or observant?

And thus, I further admire you.
Maybe I need to take classes in meditation so I'm not wound so tight.

I bought somanabolic muscle maximizer after reading a lot of reviews about it. Though all the somanabolic muscle maximizer reviews suggest that its an amazing program, no one tell the users that you have to do some real hard training. The routine of this program is very strict and the meals suggested in the program can be a bit expensive. If you can afford these two things, then this is the best muscle building program you can find.

I have a few supplements on my site that would interest you. They are from Nutrilite, which are plant based supplements and not synthetics, like most brands.
Here's a few examples. Rhodiola 110. It's a supplement that gives you energy and endurance from this herb called Rhodiola Rosea (and natural caffeine from green tea extract) which is also proven to reduce recovery time, so you won't feel all the pain and stress on your muscles the day after.
Also CLA 500 supplement. CLA is Conjugated Linoleic Acid. Which is essential fatty acids from Vegetables like Safflower oil. This will help you lose body fat, and retain your muscles. But of course you have to stay working out.
There is also this Muti-vitamin pack on my online shop called Double X. It contains Vitamin supplements (12 different kinds), Mineral Supplements(10 different kinds), and Phytonutrient Supplements. Which are essential in improving your immune system.
I also have protein, and fiber powders, whey, and flavored. Calcium, Iron, Vitamin E. Carotene supplements. Protein shakes.
Everythin you're askin for and more.
Msg me if you're interested...

I agree with this one. It is really a long process that's why some will use steroids but that is not a good way.
