Kicking butt and taking names!

This is the most stoked I've been in years about getting back into shape.

I am a walking testimonial about how stress and depression can sabotage your fitness and weight loss goals.

As I posted in another thread, I have finally discovered what is working for me. Life is starting to calm down now, getting into a routine, and have raised my serotonin levels by using a combination of 5-HTP and St. Johns Wart. It is also effectively controlling my appetite.

I lost 12 pounds in 10 days. I have leveled off a bit but I know the weight loss will come again and soon.

I had my best run tonight probably since I was in Iraq back in 08. And all it was was a nonstop three mile run...lol

Now that's quite embarrassing for me since I used to run marathons, but it is what it is. I'll take it!

I can not remember the last time I had my appetite under control like this. My cravings are gone. Not that I don't get tempted by this sugar-free banana bread staring me in the face right now, but I have the willpower to not touch it.

Had a good lifting session this afternoon too. I have been very consistent with my workouts over the last two weeks and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

This is the best I've felt physically and emotionally in three years.

So if you're not feeling so good about yourself, if you're feeling depressed, if you feel you do not have your appetite under control, look into the combination of 5-HTP and St. Johns Wart. I am completely sold on it.

Can't wait to get to next weeks workouts

Awesome. The 5-HTP should be helping with your sleep and recovery. The St. John's Wart should be helping with the depressed state (not as effective as an SSRI, but similar effects...naturally)...

Good choices and good luck to you in your endeavors.
