4 months to go....

I am pissed at myself right now. I have set great goals in the past to get myself on a regular exercise regime and have failed to stay on track. I want to establish a routine for a couple of different reasons. One important reason is that I think it allows me to deal with stress more effectively and operate more efficiently. The other reason is that I am getting married in just four months and naturally want to look my best.

Unfortunately I have let work and 'winter life' detract me from maintaining a schedule and now I am a couple pounds heavier and feel out of shape and miserable. Maybe I needed to get to this point before I get my act together in a healthy and productive way. I feel a little overwhelmed on how to go from sporadic workouts and terrible eating patterns to a very structured routined while making healthy progress before the wedding day. So I have sought out this forum to assist me with my goals and for me to also be able to provide encouragement to others.

Weight 139

Stats - I am not sure if I am measuring from the right place but at least if I measure the same place each time I can track progress.

Arms: Left 11.5
Arms: Right 11.25
Chest 34
Waist 32
Hips 39.5
Thighs: Left 22.5
Thighs: Right 22.25

Goals:
1. Post my goals and track my progress daily (publish stats once a month).
2. To lose 9 pounds by August 28th, 2004 or 2 inches off my waist and 2 inches off my thighs.
3. Be able to run 5km.
4. Put on approx. 1000 km on my bike (cycling) before October 1st, 2004
5. Develop an exercise regime that does not comprimise long term health.

Day 2

Day 2 -

Well I fell pretty good about my progress today. I would like to begin a running routine and would like to be smart about so I am purposely starting off slowly even though I have more endurance in me. Earlier this week I did go out for a purposeful 15 minute run and today I went out for a 19 minute run and followed it up with a 1.5 hour brisk walk. Overall I feel great and look forward to tomorrow.

Regarding my diet, I had a good day. No sweets but a little heavy on the carbs. This weekend I have to make a point of making some meals ahead of time so when I am in a rush I don't grab the easy solution of bread.

Friday

I am very satisfied with my level of activity today. I taught a yoga class in the morning, went for a 1/2 hr walk at lunch and then went for a 2 hour bike ride last night!
