A begginners routine :)

Hey all ... Ive been into fitness for around three months now, do kung fu as mentioned before which may explain why my routine maybe different from the body builders here. Anyway, I do not go gym as of yet, am 16 in two weeks, and nor do I have any gym tools, only a chinning bar.So heres my work out I do on most days:

100 pull ups on bar - In goes of 20
200 sit ups - In goes of 25 (only shoulders off floor, go back down)
100 push ups - In goes of 25
120 squats - In goes of 30 (fast)

Fitness

Running on sport, knees high for about 10mins each time
running up and down stairs for about 20mins, or till I fall, which ever comes first :P

stetches

Neck circling, face up down left right etc.
pushing elbow down behind head, each side
feet apart, hand over head, bending to side, then other side
hip rotations both ways
knee rotatoins, bending slightly and heel off floor as I go round each time
feet together, arms crossed .. bending trying to get elbows to floor
circling wrists, elbows, shoulders, feet
one foot forward, the other back straight, and go down splits style
feet a way apart, hold one foot, stretch leg to hold both feet at once
Sit down, legs straight, hold end og feet and head on shin
doing the left and right splits, trying to go lower on middle while leaning forward

This is mainly what I do each day, though it can vary.
----------------------------

Food:

Cereal each morning (frosties, coco pops etc )
sandwhich for lunch (tuna, ham, cheese etc)
Pasta and rice dishes usually for dinner, spaghetti bolognaise, chilli con carni, lasagne etc (love mums cooking , lol)

what I now cut out:
chocolates, take away foods, fizzy drinks (damn its hard :P).

what I strangely do each day:
at least 8 glasses of water, edam cheese (just because I love it, lol) ... at least one fruit a day and a whole load of bread.

Not sure why im telling you all, lol .. but would be great if you could point out things I should try and eat often, more things to avoid and as for the working out, extra things I could do without gym tools. Cheers!

Hi Triley,

It looks like your getting lots of good activity in. If your goal is fitness as opposed to body building, then your routine looks fine imho.

However, your eating. . . . maybe you can add some fresh veggies to your diet?

read around this board and you'll see some very optimized, very strict diets. I'd use these to adjust your own. you're young, you're not worrying about bodybuilding, so there's no need for you to totally change your diet into a bodybuilders regimen.

I'd reccommend learning a bit more about what you're putting into your body...those sugary cereals are often not that good for you, very refined, high in sugar, etc. I'd look to add more quality and clean foods, especially some more vegetables and fresh fruits. You don't need to totally take foods out of your diet though...especially if you enjoy them. if you like chocolate, have a bit of it every couple dayas...don't make a snickers a day a habit (what do you guys eat in the UK? cadbury or whatever?? ), you don't need to kill the fizzy drinks, switch to diet, and keep it reasonable. make water your drink of choice, but have a soda from time to time when you feel like it.

fitness is about making the most of your life, and I think it's not mentally fit to deny yourself the things you enjoy.

now drop and give me 200.

good luck
