Wow, movin' right up the scale! Make sure that you focus your starchy carb consumption on the 2–3 hours following your weightlifting routine.

I'm trying, I'm trying, but that oatmeal, it calls to me at night. It says that "it needs to be eaten". It says "everything will be ok". It tells us lies, and I am weak! LOL!

Incidentally AARS I want to thank you fro showing your progress, esp your pix. Your example showed me it could be done and that's helped me do it. You are now in the actual muscle making phase. great stuff! keep it up. Imagine that, maybe one day you say I weigh 250lbs and ppl won't be thinking of fat.

Thanks Trias, yes it would be cool to weigh 250 and not be fat!
The bulking ends this weekend, I am up to 222lbs. 46 pounds up from Christmas, now I just have to cut almost half of that back off.
Right now I have a bad cold, First time in two years! I have not been eating correctly, and I have not been doing any running. That goes to show you just how much diet and exercise play a role in your overall health.

I Am Back!
Hey guys, just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that I am still alive. I know I have been gone for awhile, I have been super busy! Things are still going well for me, I cut back down to 175, and am now in the middle of building back up (now at 215). I'll post a pic, if it will let me, and I will check back in when I have some more time. :
Sorry, no pics for yall, says I have too many stored already.

Are you staying that lean all the time? ,or did you cut down for your updated photo?
You look great! I only hope that I can look that good when I reach 50.

Time to cut back again, I am now at 223lbs! I just finished a nasty bulk, I had great plans to bulk very clean, but I did not. I packed on some more muscle, but quite a bit of fat also. From Nov.5th to Jan.11th I gained 48lbs. Now I've got to cut about 33lbs back off.

WOW! That's a frequent problem with traditional "bulking" phases. It's not clear to many just how much should be eaten. The body clearly can only add lean mass at a fairly moderate rate. Make sure that you keep lifting throughout your cutting phase.

I will be sure and keep lifting. Yea, 48lbs is a lot to put on that quick, but it was a nice break. During my last cut, I pushed it a little bit too much, I gave myself a deadline, and pushed hard to meet it. I kinda got burned out a little, but this time, I am gonna take it a little slower. Gonna try to keep it around a 6lb loss per month. If I can do it, that should have me in good shape for summer.
Thanks for the help again Cursor.

Well, I weighed in today, and I am already down 5lbs. But I am pretty sure that this is the usual quick loss at the beginning. Just in case I am increasing my calorie intake a little. I lost some muscle during my last cut, because like I said, I rushed it. So slow and steady is the goal.
Switched things up today and did a full body workout.
Stayed heavy on the weights.
Saturday and Sunday I will take off.
Monday and Tuesday will be cardio only, then weights the rest of the week.

You might consider focusing much of your caloric reduction on your cardio and rest days. Moderating your intake from day to day (particularly based on your activity level) will help keep your metabolism kickin'. Cutting calories too much on lifting days can be counter-productive.
