plan for monday

i'll be way too busy tomorrow to post, so i'm doing it tonight.

first i'll start out by saying that today was another perfect eating day. i'm soooo happy with my progress. i didn't make it to any evening cardio, just couldn't leave the little ones alone. but who cares when i did so much more around the house today?

tomorrow i'm doing the following:

Workout:

chest

* dumbbell bench flyes
12 x 5 kilos
10 x kilos
8 x 7 kilos
6 x 8 kilos
12 x 5 kilos supersetted with
12 x 5 kilos

* chest press machine upping weights this week
12 x 15 kilos
10 x 17.5 kilos
8 x 20 kilos
6 x 22.5 kilos
12 x 15 kilos supersetted with
12 x 15 kilos

triceps

* rope pressdown
12 x 5 kilos
10 x 6.25 kilos
8 x 7.5 kilos
6 x 10 kilos
12 x 5 kilos supersetted with
12 x 5 kilos

* bench extensions (skull crushers)
12 x 2 kilos
10 x 3 kilos
8 x 4 kilos
6 x 5 kilos
12 x 2 kilos supersetted with
12 x 2 kilos

cardio
* morning: 60 min cardio circuit
* evening: 5k walk in the evening with the girls, if it's warmish.

Meal Plan:

Meal 1 – ½ cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup 1% milk, 250 grams 1.5% cottage cheese, 10 almonds, green tea

Meal 2 – i'll be at a business meeting so i'll have to see exactly what is available -- hopefully some eggs, garden salad and fruit juice, a typical israeli *brunch*

2 eggs, 2 cups chopped tomato and cucumber salad, 2 slices whole wheat bread, 1 cup cooked tomatos, 30 grams labane cheese, turkish coffee -- like i said before, a typical israeli breakfast/brunch

workout

Meal 3 – 4 oz grilled turkey breast, baked sweet potato, 1 cup mixed steamed vegetables

Meal 4 – ½ cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup 1% milk, 250 grams 1.5% cottage cheese, large tangerine

walking with girls

Meal 5 – 5 oz water-packed tuna, apple, 2 cups garden salad, 2 slices lite whole wheat bread

* ½ tablespoon olive oil throughout the day

i'll figure this out at the end of the day tomorrow since i don't know what meal #2 is yet.

i gotta go sleep or else i'll be a mess tomorrow

good night JohnBoy

a GREAT workout once again today. i hit the cardio circuit real hard and have felt really good all day long -- i'm right on track.

Cool

tuesday afternoon already

yesterday was a wonderful day. i was completely on track with food and exercise (except the walk in the afternoon, my girls just don't want to go with me and i can't leave them here alone!)

i got into a *research-mode* these past few days -- i'm checking out a low-carb or CKD nutritional plan that might just help me beat the carb-cravings that i've been having lately. i don't like to crave anything, let alone silly carbohydrates besides, i know that i'm carb-sensitive to a large extent and i should really be much more careful with this aspect of my nutrition.

so....... i'm still researching things and starting to get an idea of how it works, what works and what doesn't work. i'll probably start writing something out in the next few days and actually start the new plan by sunday.

no exercise for today. a day off. i slept on the sofa and woke up with my back a mess. no way can i push myself in the gym today with this back, i'll just injure myself and then be real sorry for it.

i think that i'm lucky to be able to have the luxury of sitting here and working when i want, doing what i want to do, working out also, pretty much being my own *boss* in all aspects of my life. i really am grateful to be so incredibly blessed. i thank God for my good health and that of my kids too.

Meal Plan:

Meal 1 – ½ cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup 1% milk, 125 grams 1.5% cottage cheese, 10 almonds, green tea

Meal 2 – 4 egg whites + 1 whole egg omelet, 2 slices lite whole wheat bread, 3 tablespoons humus, 1 small apple

Meal 3 – 4 oz grilled turkey breast, 1 cup steamed vegetables, small baked sweet potato

Meal 4 – 1/2 cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup 1% milk, 250 grams cottage cheese, 2 tangerines, green tea

Meal 5 – 5 oz chicken breast stir fried with 2 cups vegetables, 1 cup brown rice

* i use ½ tablespoon of olive oil throughout the day

this is a 33p/45c/22f balance, 1900 calories

i *should* keep the calories a bit lower today because of the lack of exercise, but i just don't feel like it. i've been too hungry since yesterday and i'm hoping that this will calm my hunger somewhat.

onward i go !!!!

beautiful wednesday

i must say that everyone feels so much better now that spring is here. we're going to go all the way into the high 90's, low 100's over the weekend BEACH weather !!!

i woke up feeling a whole lot better today. it's amazing what a good night's sleep will do to a person.

Meal Plan for Wednesday:

Meal 1 – ½ cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup 1% milk, 125 grams 1.5% cottage cheese, 10 almonds, green tea

Meal 2 – 4 egg whites + 1 whole egg omelet, 2 slices lite whole wheat bread, 3 tablespoons humus, 1 small apple

Meal 3 – 4 oz grilled turkey breast, 1 cup steamed vegetables, small baked sweet potato

Meal 4 – 1/2 cup oatmeal + 1/4 cup 1% milk, 250 grams cottage cheese, 2 tangerines, green tea

workout - legs & cardio

Meal 5 – 5 oz chicken breast stir fried with 2 cups vegetables, 1 cup brown rice*

I use ½ tablespoon of olive oil throughout the day

this is a 33p/45c/22f balance, 1900 calories

Workout: -- i left my journal in the car, that's where the weights are noted. i'll fill this in later or tomorrow.

legs

* leg presses

* abductors

* adductors

* leg extensions

* leg curls

cardio

* 35 min intervals on the treadmill. this wiped me out today !!! especially after the legs workout.

i'm starting to lean towards a CKD nutritional plan, but the high fat has me a bit spooked. maybe a TKD. i'm continuing to read and research the whole thing. i want to bring it all together so i can start on sunday.

i'm feeling sooooooooo good today

thursday - already??

it took me a few hours this morning to realize it's thursday already !! where did this week go?

i'm taking a few days "off" here. i'm eating whatever i want and doing two spinning classes, one today and one tomorrow. saturday we're going to the beach so we'll be walking a whole lot too. the ocean is too cold for a swim, but it'll be good to feel the sand between my toes and the ocean breeze in my face

i'm also working on my food plan for next week. CKD it will be (i've gotten tons of information at the site www.c-k-d.com). i hope to God that i can find the strength within me to do this for 12 weeks, at least. i'm going to be determined and as strict as i can be to see be able to give myself a real chance to find out what's going on with my body as far as carbs are concerned. this bloating is getting on my nerves !!!!

if i see that the daily 20g of carbs is way too low for me then i'll adjust it a bit, making it a balance with the carb-loading on saturdays.

i've finally come around to accept the higher fat in my daily meal plans and i'm sure that i'll be able to be creative enough about varitey so that i don't feel *fatted out* of the program.

i won't be posting again till sunday morning. then it will be daily posts again; i'm planning on tracking this new way of life VERY closely.

i'm now going to take a short nap and then do some laundry before spinning. then i'll work on the computer late into the night. it's suppose to be in the low 100's tomorrow and saturday so i'm sure i'll feel like a rag in the heat.

keep on keeping on

spinning was fun -- as always. i got my heart rate going very good and didn't even feel winded. i sure do love to spin !!!!!

i'm back !

i know i said that i wasn't going to be here till sunday. HOWEVER, i also said that i'm going to monitor this carb/bloating/nightmare carefully.

i ate whatever i wanted to eat yesterday. i had pretty good meals, but i did also have some white bread and some cheese (grilled cheese sandwiches).

today, i am B-L-O-A-T-E-D !! out of proportion for anything normal. my eyes are PUFFY (a first) and my neck feels gargantuan !!! can we say "YUCK" -- real loud????

the bloating has gone down a bit since i woke up two hours ago. i'm drinking water like my life depends on it, 1/2 gallon already !!

this is all part of an experiment that will keep leading me in the direction that i need to be going. the process of deduction at work sherlock holmes would be proud of me.

today will be another free-day, but no white flour whatsoever. whole wheat flour, if any, to see if there is any difference.

onward and upward !!!

overcast monday

yesterday was a most interesting day it was a bit difficult for me to eat all that food, since that kind of food seems to stick to more than carbs. that's the main purpose of this, right? i didn't get meal 5 in because i was just too full at 10:00 p.m.

i ended up doing a spinning class which was great fun. i went in the evening and by the time i came home i had a horrible headache. i don't know if it was from beginning this new plan, from the bad weather, PMS or what. thank God it went away eventually.

i'm keeping pretty much to the same meal plan today because i just don't think i could handle something different right now. i did enjoy the meals yesterday and felt really good not bloating last night !!! YAY !! i woke up almost "normal", much, much better than i had been for the past few weeks.

Meal Plan:

Meal 1 – 4 lettuce rolls – large lettuce leaf with cream cheese, 4 egg white + 1 egg omelet, green tea

Meal 2 – 10 almonds, 4 oz grilled turkey, 3 large lettuce leaves, 1 cup cucumber – all this made into a salad with 2 tablespoons ranch dressing

workout

Meal 3 – 5 oz water-packed tuna, 1 cup sautιed mushrooms, 10 green olives – all of this mixed together in a Spanish frittata-style mixture

Meal 4 – 3 oz mozzarella cheese, 3 stalks of celery, 2.5 oz grilled chicken breast

Meal 5 – 5 oz turkey breast stir fried with 2 cup mixed vegetables

This is a 33% protein/4% carbs/63% fat balance, 1900 calories

* 2 tablespoons of olive oil are used throughout the day for sauteι, stir-fry and salads

Workout:

legs

* leg presses

* adductors

* abductors

* leg curls

* leg extensions

i'll fill in the details after the workout.

day 2 has started

on sunday we're taking off for 7-10 days camping down south, at the beach. we really need this vacation. happy days !!! lots of hiking in the sand dunes and swimming in the cold ocean. i CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now i have about 10 million other things to do.

after that i'm going to do a weblog in a different place, maybe even a web site within my own local community web site. i'm creating something that will be in both english and hebrew, with the cooperation of my gym this is going to be fun !! i'm THE ONLY woman in my gym that works out the way i do and the gym has approached me to help them get more people interested in this whole thing! just yesterday we closed the final details of the project.

now, all during our camping vacation i'll be obessing about how i'm going to do this new project !!! it'll be GREAT !!!

i'll be coming to the boards for the fantastic information, but won't be continuing my journal here.

good luck everyone !!
