Amanda's BodyWeight Exercises

Thought I'd start a new journal since I'm starting a new workout.

So today:

Monday June 6th

What a hot stick day!

Started the morning with Tiger moves. 10 reps each 1 set. Last rep held for count of ten.

75 pushups - 3 sets 25 reps
50 furey squats - 2 sets 25 reps

Was suppose to run, but got caught up in work, and wasn't able to get away
My cardio for the day will have to be limited to my morning and afternoon walks. (Half hour each time)

LOL. My guess is that was to be "sticky."

Good pushup numbers. It takes decent stamina to crank out 3 sets of 25 like that.

Wednesday June 8th

No workout this morning - had to leave early due to traffic conditions.

Afternoon - Stairmaster 20 min level 10 (whatever that means lol) I have a love/hate relationship with the stairmaster. It totally kicks my ass every time I get on it.

Situps - 20 (full range floor to knees, all in one set) - have I ever mentioned I hate ab work?
Dips - 16 2 sets of 8
Chinups - 4 2 sets of 2 (hands facing eachother)
Close Grip Pullups - 2 I didn't get all the way up. I got my forehead just past the bar lol.
Wide grip pullup - 1/4 I got twice as far as last time. Progress is progress I guess!

Thursday June 9, 2005

3mile run - 25:46
Avg. Speed 7.0mph 0% incline.

15 Situps
20 Pushups

Doing the pushups immediately after the situps was hard. It was my abs that gave out, and shortened the set.

Thanks!!

June 14th

Interval run

Working Speed: 8.5mph
Recovery Speed: 6.0mph

15min. - 7 int. at working speed.

1.8miles in total. (at the end I sped up the last recovery interval to get to 1.

15 situps
25 pushups
rest
25 pushups

-not as much as I'd like to get done, but not bad.
-also nothing on the weekend. This smog is killing me. I spent Sunday, and Monday sitting on my ass because anything else made it difficult to breath. I was hoping not to get my puffers since I haven't used them in a long time, but it seems I have no choice. Especially since I walk to and from work in Toronto every day

June 15, 2005

Started out running, and decided to do a small circuit of sorts. I decided a bit late but here's what happened:

1mile run - 9:00
Chin ups - Ladder - 3, 2, 1 - then a trainer came at the last 1 and helped me do assisted chinups for 3 additional reps
Dips - 15
rest
Close Grip Pullup - 1
Dips with leg raise - 8
Hanging leg raise - 8 (held up by arms)
chin ups - palms facing eachother - 2
Dips with leg raise - 4
.25mile run
Dips - 12
Leg raise on bench - 10 then last 5 brought my legs up towards my forehead
rest
Furey Squats - 50

Those chinups are coming along nicely, Amanda. Remember when you were doing half chins? Keep at it! :

Thankyou I like that ladder format because I got in 6 reps, and 3 partial ones. Plus when I did the hanging leg raises I was hanging with my arms so that works the upper body too

June 16th

Wasn't going to include it, but changed my mind.

I did 1 set of 5 with as much intensity as possible for the following:

Biceps:
BI-1 BI-6
BI-2 BI-8
BI-4 BI-9

Neck Exercises (I have a bad neck, so these were not as intense as possible, just as much as was comfortable)
NE-1 NE-4 NE-7
NE-2 NE-5
NE-3 NE-6

** I actually do these exercises for my neck on a fairly regular basis on the advice of my chiropracter.

I did these on the bus, on the way home from work.

My cardio for the day was only my walk to and from work. 1hr total
