Thanks

Pierini - that's my goal for the next 4 weeks before my next weigh/measure. Up the intensity. For these first few weeks I just wanted to ease back into working out.

Yea I miss doing yoga. If my son hadn't been sick all week I'd go tomorrow.
Julian had another ear infection so I didn't make it to gym. He was better today, but we went to a playgroup so I did the following at home:

March 1st

15 pushups
15 situps
50 Furey Squats
15 pushups
15 situps
50 furey squats
15 pushups
15 situps
20 furey squats - had to stop as it was hurting my knees and I'm running tomorrow.
5 pushups with feet elevated

Have some chores to do, but I'm going to try and get more pushups, and situps in - watching me do pushups makes my son laugh lol.

Good one! Way to keep going, I know how hard it can be with little kids.

Thanks!

Well I had my appt. for the bodyweight program. It sucked. They made me a program using really light weights and told me to do 3 sets of 10 to "build more muscle". Which doesn't make any sense to me. I mean how am I going to build "more" muscle using less weights and reps than my last program? So I guess I'm on my own lol.

I do feel like it was a wasted day at the gym!

I did a half mile run - 5 minutes - and 1 set of their program and then some ab work. Going by my run I'm not going to train for a half marathon this summer. I'm going to train for the 10K instead. I plan on starting that next week, and then for my other workouts I'll just do whatever I feel like on the day I go to the gym. Maybe some crossfit workouts in there too.

That's it for today unless my son has a decent nap then I'll try to get in a few sets of crunches, and pushups.

The boy wouldn't nap yesterday lol.

March 6th

At Home:
20 Situps
15 Pushups
20 Situps
15 Pushups

Did some house work, my son got up went to the gym and:

2.70 mile run in 30 minutes. Not quite running straight through. At 25 min I put the Treadmill back up to 6.0 for 1 minute then I was beat so I was going to quit, but walked for 1.5min and then up to 6.5 for the last 2.5min.

15 min Stretching

Very nice Amanda. Gotta love it when the little ones don't exactly cooperate with our plans.

How will you build muscle with less reps and less weights? Simple, you've kind of been out of hardcore training for a while. You've deconditioned some. You will respond to it. I actually like the deconditioning breaks - they let us keep improving with the same weights over and over so we don't wear our joints out by having to go heavier all the darn time.

Good luck. Looks to me like you are doing fine.

Thanks. Hmm. Well I'm willing to give a shot. I will try to give it an honest go and see if I like it or not.

March 8th

3 mile run - 30:35

15 min stretching

Yesterday was off since Julian had a doctor's appt. in the am, and me in the pm! With no car it was an all day affair!

Hey Amanda - if you can chip 9 seconds off your 3-mile run every time out, you'll be back in fighting form in no time. Keep running!
