March 13th
Crossfit WOD in 22:08
Which was 5 rounds of:
50ft. of walking lunges with 45lbs held over head - couldn't use a BB not enough room in gym so I used to 22.5lb DB
21 Burpess
Well that about killed me, and my legs are so sore they don't want to work lol.
Seated Shoulder Press 12lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Overhead Tricep Extension using cable - 20lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Bicep Curl using cable - 30lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Then I had to walk home pushing Julian through 6 or so centimetres of snow
not fun! I think when I go out later I'll take the bus lol.

Very nice work. Did you hold the dumbells overhead? I think that would be a lot harder than a bar.

Jeez I did just 3 sets of OH walking lunges last night with only an 18lb bar (16 steps each set) and I was completely wiped. I couldn't imagine doing burpees after that!

Lol it took alot of talking to convince myself to do the whole thing. I can't remember the last time I did burpees - now I remember why.
Tim - for the first set they were held up in the air over my shoulders, but for all remaining sets they were on my shoulders, and for half of the 4th set they somehow were hanging at my sides.
I am paying for this workout right now. I was sore before it was over, and it hurts to sit or stand up... or really move my legs at all!

How long did it take for the DOMS to go away from the last CrossFit WOD you did? The 5 rounds of walking overhead lunges+burpees WOD.

March 22nd
3mile run 29:46
Was planning on a longer run, but I felt so good I decided to see how fast I could go.
I'll be at the gym tomorrow, and then not back again til' next Wednesday. But I'm going hiking again so that's some exercise - I carry my son while we hike so he's an added 20+lbs. I just need to eat better. Since last weekend was my DH's friend we ate crappy food all weekend! This weekend it's my mom so we'll be eating much better!

Thanks Minime
Pierini I was feeling better by thursday - as in it didn't hurt every single time I moved. Friday we were downtown walking around for about 3 hrs, and my muscles were just tired but not too sore.

Well my mom was visiting for the last 5 days so I didn't make it to the gym! Saturday we went hiking in the mountains. We did a 2.5-3hr hike up Johnston canyon! I carried Julian, and it was quite the workout! It's not normally a hard hike, but the snow and ice made it harder - especially since I was carrying Julian I had to be extra careful! I have missed the mountains so much. DH and I want to get a car just so we can go there on weekends!
Then on Sunday we went to Drumheller to the Horse Shoe Canyon, and the Royal Tyrell Museum. We hiked around the canyon for about an hour. This was harder then the mountains. It was great to be outside so much though, and Julian loved it!
I spent Monday resting as much as possible since I haven't been getting very much sleep, and then yesterday was my moms last day here so we spent the day together. Today my gym clothes are dirty so I'm taking Julian on a playdate, and then I will try to get a workout in when we come home as that will probably make him nap!
I made up a slideshow of the weekend at Johnston canyon, and drumheller. If anyone wants to take a look
This is Johnston Canyon:

Drumheller: (With one pic from Johnston canyon)

and this is not last sat. the sat. before at a different trail in the mountains:

This is the main reason I wanted to move back to calgary!

Hey Amanda!
Nice recreation. I loved my trip with my kids through AB many summers ago. We were driving from BC to ON and went to Jasper then down through Drummheller and on to SK. We of course stopped at Drummheller and saw all the dinosaur stuff. My photos of the country side are a little different since it was July. My favourite one is one of clouds meeting the layered landscape and the desert-like flora. I miss being so close to the mountains like I was in BC.
My son is moving to Calgary for the summer to "make some money".

Carrying the youngun' in a pack can be quite a workout, especially when he gets to 1 year old or so and starts randomly wiggling around as you hike.
