Thanks Brat! I'm actually starting to believe that. The past couple of days I've been feeling alot better. It's amazing. Just all of a sudden. Hopefully the trend continues

January 20th

Today I didn't feel like working out at all! Just wasn't in the mood. But I went up anyways, and ended up working out with a friend of mine who is also a personal trainer. Turns out she wasn't going to work out either so we motivated eachother

I just did what she said for this workout, and it was a nice change of pace. I'm sure I'll be sore tomorrow!

Warm up - 5 minutes on eliptical

Squats - 20lbs 15 reps 3 sets all the way down

Kickbacks - 18lbs 15 reps 3 sets
(Squats, and kickbacks were alternating)

Cable Rows in lunge position - 30lbs 15 reps 3 sets

I liked the cable rows. Really felt it in my upper back. I might do those more regularly along with chinups. My Glutes, and Quads are going to be sore too...

How were those squats? I'm wondering about pregnant balance issues...

More headaches this one has gone on for two days now. About an hour ago I finally broke down and took half of a tylenol Ultra. It didn't take away my headache completely but at least I'm able to function almost normally at work. It's really disappointing because I was feeling so much better yesterday morning that I thought this may be the first week I got more than 3 days of workouts in! But by lunchtime yesterday this headache was here full force. I'm not sure what is causing it but I have noticed that I'm fairly tired. So, maybe I'm not getting enough sleep. Last night didn't help as I stayed up til' about 10:30 to watch the election results come in. It's the first time I voted! It's also a common pregnancy complaint. So hopefully tomorrow I should have an actual workout to post.

On the weekend I did ALOT of walking, and of course yesterday I walked my 8KM and 3.5km so far today. I also did the tiger moves on Sunday just medium intensity for 10 reps each.

Tim: I haven't noticed any balance problems yet. When I was doing the high rep body weight squats the only thing that really bothered me was the standing up too fast and getting light headed.

Amanda, of course headaches, occasional lightheadedness, and other "things" are all normal, expected parts of pregnancy. However, I just thought of something...and this is a serious question...not my usual facetious self being a smart alec since everyone is always asking me the same thing.

Are you eating enough? You ARE eating for two.

That's been suggested to me by a couple people also - a hunger headache. I really hope not because I eat a ton! Just before I got pregnant (well, before I found out I was pregnant) I was eating between 2500 - 3000 a day. I'm eating way more than that now, and I'm still always hungry. It gets ridiculous sometimes. I'll eat a huge roast meal and then be hungry again in an hour. Today I haven't eaten to much because I haven't felt like it because of my head, but I'm just about to go have a second lunch because I'm feeling better and now I'm starving!

It is, however, another thing I'm looking at. I've been extremely good with my hydration since my last round of headaches, and now I'm going to focus on eating more and sleeping more.

Looks like you are thinking right and really trying to do right. Remember more food is a requirement. That baby is going to get the nutrients before you will. The body will do whatever damage to you it has to do to make that baby healthy - including taking away nutrients. That's why it is reccomended to wait 2 years between pregnancies - to let the body recover. You are creating a whole new person - it takes a lot from you to do that.

With our last one, THE VERY LAST ONE EVER, my wife started losing weight partway through the pregnancy and continued to do so even though she was eating more and more. She wasn't fit when it started though. You have a real advantage over the average woman in this entire process.

I was thinking that yesterday. I don't know how I would manage if I was out of shape on top of all this! Feeling better today, and making a conscious effort to eat more. Already have this morning. So today I'll be working out!

Nope, I've stopped sleeping on my back.

Sorry Amanda for the brief hijack.

No worries lol.

Saturday January 28th

2 sets 15 furey pushups
then outside throwing the football around and playing 500.
Very easy for a pregnant woman to get the ball in 500
Since it's been a while my throwing arm is still sore, and my obliques! It was so nice out!

January 30th

Eliptical
- Did an interval training full body workout on it. One interval going forward as a warm up - 6 min. 6 min pulling with arms. 6 min pushing with arms. 6 min going backwards. 3 min cooldown.

I haven't done much for cardio besides run in a long time, and this really hit my quads, and glutes! Kept my HR up, and was nice for a change.

I had the beginnings of a headache, but I think it's because I got a bad night of sleep and I'm really tired. As soon as I felt it I went up and worked out, and it helped. So tonight early to bed for me!

That is SO cheating take advantage of it while you can.:
Reminds me of high school...we'd have to ditch to go mudding or something else fun. The girls would just say, "tummy ache...girl problems" and be allowed to leave . Then at the mud pit, they always seemed to be fine.

Otherwise, eat well and rest well. Are you into your second trimester yet? Sometime there is when the headaches and fatigue should give you a break - perhaps not go away completely but at least a break would be nice.

Yea, I'm 17 weeks. I'm feeling generally better except the headaches. The fatigue is mainly from not sleeping properly last night.
