January 31st
5 min warmup on eliptical
15 incline situps
10 assisted chinups - 40lbs assistance
10 dips
10 hanging leg raises - knees as high as possible towards chest
Stretching
10 assisted chinups - 50lbs assistance
10 hanging leg raises
10 dips
10 hanging leg raises
10 dips
10 hanging leg raises
I upped the weight on the assisted chinups because after the first set my head was pounding, and if it does that I'm suppose to decrease the intensity.
(2 days in a row )

Edited to add: Weight is 154.5lbs. This could be off by as much as 1.5lbs. Last week when I weighed myself on the same scale a trainer told me the scale was off by that much. Tomorrow at my doctor's appointment I get officially weighed, and we'll see what she says it is!

No workout today as my doctor's appointment just throws the whole day out of whack. I did get extra sleep this morning which was nice.

Baby's HB is at about 150BPM
It was fluctuating between 141 and 150, but generally higher.

My blood pressure was 104/66

My doctor informed me that I could continue doing situps on the mat. She said the advice for not doing anything on your back is more for strenuous exercises so as long as I take it easy and don't stay on my back for extended periods of time I'm fine!

My weight was correct yesterday. 154.5lbs

Average weight gain at this point is anywhere from 8-10lbs. I've gained 8.5! :

February 2nd

Warm up - 5 minute on eliptical

15 Furey Pushups
15 Situps
15 Furey Pushups
50 Furey Squats
15 Situps
50 Furey Squats
15 Furey Pushups
15 Standing Crunches (each side)

Lots of stretching in between each exercise. Mainly quads, hamstrings, glutes. Made sure to stretch out my abs good after each set of situps. I find if I don't they get to tight and when I stand it causes discomfort.

Today was one of those days where I'm tired, and had a slight headache before starting. That's why I took it easy and did lots of stretching in between exercises. I'm still tired, but the exercise seems to have taken the headache away.

February 3rd

Cardio

Started out on the treadmill did .5mile in 5 minutes. It was too uncomfortable to continue however.

I switched to the eliptical doing a program concentrating on Glutes for 20 minutes.

I kept my HR above 165. It averaged around 160. Not as high as it would be running but not too bad either. Spent about 5 min stretching at the end.

This is the first week since I've been pregnant that I've gone for 4 days in one week!

February 8th

Mix day

2mile run:
.5mile - 6.0mph
.25mile - 7.0mph
.25mile - 7.5mph
.25mile - 7.0mph
.25mile - 6.5mph
.25mile - 6.0mph
.25mile - 6.5mph
total time about 18:15 or so - didn't notice exactly

2 sets 15 reps situps

1 set 25 pushups

Didn't do the full 3 miles so I could do as much stretching as possible.

I've had a headache for the last two days which finally went away last night. Yesterday throughout the day I did 4 sets of 15 pusups on a stool. Just to get the blood moving. Walking to and from work was making my head my pound so that seemed like the best idea.

Weight today is 154lbs

Why not? They aren't going to hurt you or the baby.

I see you are still putting out an impressive amount of work. Looking good.

Hey, are you going to post a "progress pic" as your baby progresses along.

It would actually be interesting to see pregnant, FIT people staying healthy. So many just don't go to the effort you are doing to make sure that they stay fit. It's such a shame too because it makes the birth so much easier for them. (Speaking from 2nd hand info of course since I've never actually done that).

Well I probably shouldn't have tried the chinup because while working out I'm not suppose to do anything too too intense. That's the reason I've dropped down to assisted chinups. Plus I'm up to 158lbs, so a 12lb increase, and I knew I wouldn't be getting an extra 12lbs past that bar lol. I was doing good getting up there when I was an extra 4 - 6lbs! If we get a digital camera then I'll post some pics, but otherwise I have no way of doing it! Working out and being pregnant definitely go hand in hand. I don't want to think about how I'd feel if I wasn't working out. No matter how hard it is to do it once I've finished a workout I always feel great.

February 16th

Cardio

25minutes on eliptical

I did the "Gluteal 2" workout. Focusing on the glutes, and quads.

Spent 5 minutes stretching - which was great. Just what I needed. I'm going to try and get a pregnancy yoga video to do at home as well.

So Monday night was my ultrasound. Long, and kind of painful but worth it in the end as we are having..... A BOY

That's what Don says too lol.

I started getting sick on Friday the 17th. I could feel it building starting as a tickle in my throat. So I took it easy and didn't work out Friday Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Tuesday my throat was a bit worse, but I was back at work so I walked to work as normal, and I knew I shouldn't have as soon as I got there. I got worse and worse as the day went on. Tuesday night I slept from before 8:30 until 6:30 the next morning. Felt a bit better and went to work - walked again, but took a lot of rests along the way. I worked only for 4.5hrs and could feel myself getting worse so I went home. Slept another 10hrs that night. It took me until Sunday morning to feel fully recuperated! It's gotta be the pregnancy because I never get sick like that!

So. Sunday we went out and were playing around with some hockey sticks. We only have one net, and a short driveway, but it was fun. Monday I did a lot of walking and found some of it very tiring. Going uphill particularly on my calves, and hamstrings.

Today:
February 28th

Treadmill - 5:00 on 6.0mph
Stairmaster - 20min

I think I'm done running. It's too uncomfortable. Plus I could feel my hips getting so tight even in that short 5 minutes. I didn't do the stairmaster at as high a level as normal, but my quads were burning almost the whole time!

I'm now up to 161lbs. So that's an extra 15lbs which I'm assuming is a big contributing factor to my sore hips lately, and extra tired legs. Going up the 3 flights of stairs at work is a lot harder than usual.
