Saturday March 11th

7 Tiger moves medium intensity 15 reps

40 Ball squat against wall with a pause at the bottom of squat
15 pushups - my belly is starting to get in the way!
40 deadlift holding medicine ball
15 situps
12 Atlas 1 pushups
10 opposite hand leg raises (10 each side)
10 Atlas 2 Pushups
8 Bicep Curl DVRs Maximum intensity
50 Furey Squats - my belly now gets in the way of how low I can squat lol.

I missed Thursdays workout because of plain old forgetfullness, and yesterday I had a headache which got worse on my walk so I decided against working out and got more rest instead.

Well Thursday may not have been just forgetfullness Wednesday I was incredibly sore! My back - upper mainly - and legs really felt the effects of that run.

Monday March 13th

Cardio

5min on 6.5mph - my calves were burning, my hamstrings were sore and my hips were hurting so I decided to go on the stairmaster. I went and stretched for about 5minutes. I felt better so went back to the treadmill

3.0mile run in 27:27

I'm not going to break down the details because I just ran as fast as I could then recovered. Today was a day I really had to push myself!

After the run I spent about 7 min stretching.

Weight: 163lbs

Your weight gain seems to be well under control. Is your doc pleased with this or does he/she say you aren't gaining enough?

She doesn't say a word. I have another apointment on Wed. and I'm wondering if she'll say anything then since I've only gained 2lbs in the last few weeks. My appointments are so quick because I don't usually have any questions. So she just checks my BP the baby's, hb and my weight. She hasn't even measured my stomach yet to see how far along I am which some other women find odd.

I never had that done!

Congratulations on your controlled progress. You are going to have fun with your little one. Boys are easy to raise! They melt my heart.

Since you've had an ultrasound - there is no need to measure fundal height. That's why she hasn't done that. As long as your blood pressure, urine protien, and blood sugar stay normal - then most likely all is quite well.

Cardio

Stairmaster - 20minutes

Saw my doctor yesterday, and she wants me to keep my HR under 140

I don't know how possible that will be... I didn't go all out or anything today, but my HR was still up at 170. I know I could have slowed down more, but that just doesn't feel right. This is gonna be hard. When I run I won't be able to monitor it so I'm just not going to run at 7.0mph anymore. Other than that the visit was good. My blood pressure is still good - 110/60. Julian's HB 138bpm.

Oh and she measured my stomach to see how far along I am lol. What a coincidence. I'm right where I'm suppose to be I also have to go for the glucose test any time starting Monday.

March 17th

3 Min warmup on eliptical

50 Furey Squats
15 Situps
20 Pushups
40 Walking lunges with a 5 second walking break at the 20 mark
20 Ball Crunches
12 Atlas Situps
40 Ball Squats
10 Atlas Situps

Lots of stretching. I feel so in flexible even with all this stretching. I think it's because my belly gets in the way now and I can't stretch my hamstrings like I use to. Or can't seem to anyways. I can't get the same amount of my hand on the floor.

Amanda, when's your due date? Could you add that to your signature or something? I'll never remember it.

It's amazing to me, having never gone through a pregnancy( mine came with their mother at ages 3 & 12 y/o) that you do as much as you do. I always see the women with troubles, and they are bed confined & can't get out of their own way, or the ones that see pregnancy as an excuse to get light duty, then sit around & gain weight, so I've been watching this with interest.

keep up the good work!

That's for sure. Many of the "woman things" are just excuses anyway. A sad commentary on how un-fit so many people are today. Always an excuse to not do anything.

Of course some pregnancies are troubled - but Amanda is a good example of how to give a woman and her baby the best chance for a healthy, happily uneventful pregnancy.

Thanks SunMedic!

The amazing thing I've found is how different the opinions of doctors can be. There are quite a few women here at work that are pregnant too, and the info we all get from the doctors is ridiculous. Some have been told to only walk. No lifting any form of weight what-so-ever - to light weights are ok. Others have been told NO ab exercises. Period. From pretty much day one. Then there's my doctor who all of a sudden last week decided I should be keeping my HR below 140. Which is next to impossible when you're pregnant and working out. She also did a complete reverse from saying I could continue doing situps to saying I "really shouldn't be on my back too long" and added on "but you can keep doing them until you can't do them anymore".

I find most pregnant women seem to be worried about what they are doing wrong, or what they should or shouldn't be doing, in they're pregnancy. When you have a doctor telling you these things it's real hard to go against that. Since they're suppose to have the answers!

Me, I'm going with what my doctor says combined with what my body tells me. I never push myself too hard. My baby is very healthy, and active lol. So obviously my higher HR hasn't been hurting him. I do the talk test while doing cardio - as long as I can speak two sentences with ease I'm not working too hard.
