I remember going to Richmond a couple summers as a kid, ya the place was hotter than ever! But one thing I liked, the Atlantic was so warm and great to swim in. In Northern Calif where I am the ocean is pretty much ice cold no matter what time of year you go.....

Thats what I was thinking. Now it's a matter of will power. I'll have to go after I have my coffee(s) and read my paper. It's the only day I have a set routine that I don't like changed lol I wish I had a partner to lift with. Maybe some day... posting here helps though, it's a form of motiviation

Well, Friday I did my two walks to and from work. Not fast pace lol, I was/am so sore from Thursday! Those squats were brutal thats what I get I guess for not being regular in doing them! So today I'm doing the walking thing too, nice and easy, about 5 minutes slower. It's about 40 min now

Ouch. It's very hard to do any serious running the day after squats. I do legs Fridays and generally take Saturdays off. Sometimes I'm still sore Sunday a.m.!

Yea, I'm still sore today from Thursday. I want to go run tomorrow so hopefully they feel better. If not I'll still run just not as intense. :

Amanda, FANTASTIC sets on the squats, that's some heavy weight woman, are you in a squat rack then since no partner/spotter?

Also, I'm so glad you're making the pull-ups a goal, that way we can spur each other on. I feel so weak and stuff trying those pull-ups. Last night I did 1 on my first set but it was immediately follwed by the DB rows, went as heavy as I could w/ good form.
The second set I tried my pull-up and failed
I did get one on the 3rd set though.

Man, we have GOT to conquer that stupid bar hanging up there!! It's like a personal war or something!!! And we MUST PREVAIL!!!!!

-Amy

P.S. Read Ass Cobra or ACE HOLE's journal, (whatever he's going by now) to see his personal motivation for pullups maybe it will help
hehehehe lolol

Thanx Amy!! It still hurts to stand up It's not a squat rack... it's a machine, I guess, you put the weight on the side and stand on the platform and do squats. Bad explanation! But the squat rack is usually busy so this works ok. That is the one thing I miss about my old gym. There I used a barbell, just get under it take a few steps back nice and easy. Although I couldn't go too high. I would never have done 180lb, wouldn't have felt safe! and Yes we are going to conquer that stupid bar :

July 26th

8:10 - 35min fast paced walk

8:45 - 2 bowls of special K cereal

10:30 - 8mile run - no warmup, 8 miles in 80min, and 2 in cool down and stretching
Felt pretty good the whole run. I haven't done anything close to this distance in a while. My left hip started acting up (ITBS) at mile 7 so I decided to stop at 8, could have gone farther though : trying to make up for not getting to the gym yesterday (sunday)!

12:30 - 1 piece bassa fish, 2 spring roles, mixed veggies

1:15 - 1 large coffee

2:15 - an organic yogurt, granola, fruit, and nuts parfait very good.

5:00 - spring roll, piece of veal

5:30 - parfait, same as earlier
