Cardio

I didn't have much time today because I dealt with a nasty customer that overflowed into my workout time but I figured something is better than nothing!

I did a very short 2 min warm up on 6.0mph.

Then:

.2miles at 6.0mph - .2miles at 8.5mph

I honestly can't remember the distance. I was too worried about what the time was. Not the best way to workout. I think it was about 2.5miles. I know the time is right. I believe the time was 20:40. I don't like working out with a time limit.

Actually 2.4miles would make more sense. 2.4miles in about 20:40.

Lower Body

Deadlift:

-110lbs 8 reps 1 set
-110lbs 6 reps 2 sets

Squat:
-115lbs 8 reps 1 set
-125lbs 6 reps 2 sets
-115lbs 8 reps 1 set

Calf Raises (on leg press machine):

-144lbs 10 reps 3 sets

Leg Press:

144lbs 8 reps 3 sets

Seated Leg Curl:

-84lbs 4 reps
-96lbs 6 reps 2 sets

Had to do lower body today instead of upper body because I hurt my wrist somehow last week during bench press. I don't feel I ate enough beforehand since I always find lower body difficult.

Cardio

I wasn't going to do intervals or anything I was going to take it easy, but that seemed to easy!

so I did .2mile int.

I increased the recovery time, but of course I increased it too much! I went up to 6.5mph from 6.0. I managed to do that for 2 sets, but then went down to 6.3, and eventually to 6.0. Next time I'll leave the recovery at about 6.2 and see how that goes. By the time I got to 2.6 miles I was beat! I wasn't going to finish but I did. The 2.6 - 2.8 I ran most of it on 8.0, but ended up at 4.0 to recover for about 30sec - 1 min. I finished the run on 7.5mph increasing to about 8.2mph.

Total: 3miles in 26:04

oh, and I did work out on Thursday. I did an upper body workout, but I didn't write it down and I didn't have time to record it in my journal. I did not run on Friday because I forgot a shirt

Upper Body

Standing Barbell Curls:

-50lbs 8 reps
-50lbs 6 reps
-40lbs 8 reps

Skullcrushers:

-30lbs 6 reps
-40lbs 8 reps 3 sets

Bent over Rows:

-30lbs 8 reps 3 sets

Benchpress:

-60lbs 12 reps 2 sets
-60lbs 6 reps 1 set
*My wrist still hurts from 2 weeks ago. I thought it better to lower the weight and up the reps. The wrist isn't too bad but I could feel it hurting a bit with the BB curls so this was better.

Situps:

2 sets 12 reps

Leg Raises:

2 sets 10 reps

Crunches on floor
8 reps 1 set

I HATE AB WORK!!

But I guess that means I have to do it more

Cardio

Very bad cardio day! I tried this "program" on the treadmill. Not a good idea. I should have known better, because my knees, and achilles act up if I run on an incline on the treadmill. It was a 5k fun run program and of course it had "hills" anyways, my knee acted up and it hurt. I was only on there for 20min. Mind you it was a good intense 20min. So I switched to eliptical for remaining 10min.

Cardio

Intervals, on the TM. There is a new TM and it has a speed int. setting. I don't know what the intervals were but it was close to .2miles. I did 6.2mph for recovery, and 8.2mph for working speed. I didn't do the last interval instead I kept my pace at 7.5mph and increased to 8.0mph (this is for last .5miles) Finished with:

3 miles in 24:57

treadmill intervals

Amanda,

About your intervals on the treadmill. Do you manually adjust the speed or do you program it into the treadmill and let the computer take care of it? I haven't figured out a way to do this yet on my gym's treadmill. The programs on my treadmill use inclines to increase difficulty but don't increase the speed.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Amicus

Thanks Amicus! I have to change the speeds manually on most of the treadmills. Which is very annoying! There is one treadmill that has speed intervals set into it, but it doesn't tell you intervals of what lol. I've used that a few times and it's pretty close to what I normally do.
