June 2nd

I've decided to lay off the weight lifting for a while. Maybe forever who knows. All I know is that after these two weeks off I have no back or wrist discomfort, and I'm enjoying doing the BW exercises. I'm going to be adding to what I do every week, but for now here's what I did today:

Tiger Moves - I did all 7 for 10 reps holding the last one for a count of ten. I only did one set.

Puhshups - 3 sets 25 - so 75 total

That was it for the morning. I ran out of time. For the tiger moves I still don't know them all of by heart so I'm reading them from the book, and then doing them. Hopefully when I know them then it'll go quicker.

3 mile run - Inside on TM. It was a hill program. First hill 2% incline, next 2 hills 4% incline and last two hills 6% incline. Each hill is .25miles with .25miles recovery inbetween.

Time: 28:14
Avg Speed: 6.4mph

I don't know if it was from the tiger moves this morning, or what but my thighs were so tired during this run. It wasn't any faster than normal or anything...

Lots of people in very fine shape do nothing more than body-weight work. Pierini, for example.

Pushups, planks, chair dips, pullups and wall sits are a great full-body workout.

lol thanks! They are pretty taxing. I'm not "sore", (yet) but my muscles are very tired.

Hey, nothing wrong with Body Weight training. If it makes you happy, gives the results you want, and doesn't hurt, go for it. Our military takes fat slobs in all the time and within a couple of months, makes them very lean and mean doing nothing but running, calisthenics (speelin?), and tons of different body weight exercises. No one can deny the level of fitness that a newly trained soldier or marine has. And since you are starting out fit - you are at a better starting place than most of them.

But of course our local national guard unit all came home from Iraq as fat as pigs - someone forgot to do any PT.
