Ya, Next time I'm doing legs is on Tuesday, so I'm going to go ahead and up it to 205 I think. Just take it slowly.

Had a good cardio w/out yesterday. If you told me in June of 2003 that I would turn into a person who goes to the gym 6 days a week I would have laughed in your face! Can't believe how addicting it gets though, huh! It's like your fix or something.

Silly, I haven't been to Muddlement.com in a while. Wish you would put your workout log on DF though so we can keep each other in line more How's things?

This is a major factor - everyone is different.
I noticed that when I was squatting higher amounts of weight (160 - 180 definetly not 205!) and running alot (last year gotta get back at it) My legs didn't get much bigger but more defined....

If I could get to 180 Amy you can do a lot more! You are really disciplined with your workouts :

Tuesday was leg day, I took LadyC's advice and tried heavier squats, looked like this...

Squats
1x10x115
1x8x135
1x6x185
1x10x205
1x10x215
1x10x215--drop--1x20x135

I still don't know what weight I would need to only do 4 reps like LadyC was saying, and I am really nervous about upping the weight. But I'll stay at 215 for a while and see how I do.
I was pretty dang winded after that last set and I was shaking...

Yeah - You got it!. A good leg set makes you HAVE to sit down for a minute.

215!! Wow! That's pretty damn good! You'd probably have to go pretty high to get down to 4 reps.

I can do 185 x 20 and my max is around 280 on squat. So needless to say, damn you have a big squat especially for your gender and weight.

Cool, thx. I'm going to keep it up, I believe squats is the best exercise of all, just wish I could get over my nervousness about them.

Yesterday I just did my cardio, 45 minutes on the elliptical. I'm going to switch to Billy Blanks Tae-Bo video for a while on my cardio. I really need to mix things up in that area. The elliptical is getting to where its not challenging enough unless I set the resistance really high & I don't want to do that because I feel it will interfere w/ my leg/squat day. Plus my shins always are hurting when I run on the treadmill lately, so I'll be starting the Tae-Bo on Wednesday, tomorrow...

I enjoy it so far Brat. We don't really push each other yet because he's just now getting into lifting weights. Right now my main concern when lifting w/ him isn't pushing the weights so much as pushing good form.

But we'll push each other weight-wise later I'm sure, and I look forward to that time.

Didn't get my work out in yesterday, but the gym's open today until 1:00pm and I only have to work until 10:00am this morning, so we'll go down there and work out when I get off. Should be pretty cool.
