Andrea's Pumpin' Iron & Shape Up Journal
Wednesday, 07/21/04
Well, I've been hanging out in the Online Journals section for awhile now and I have been inspired by so many of you that I am going to start my own work-out journal. I'm Andrea, 21 years old, 5' 6, 150 lbs., and not sure of my body fat % yet.
I'll start with this morning's work-out. (3:30 am) I am up pretty early but last night I couldn't sleep so I got even earlier to work-out. I usually don't start my work-outs until 4am. Anyways, Today is legs and booty work-out day!!
10 min. warm-up
ran 3 miles
power walked on the treadmill for 20 mins.
elliptical for 20mins.
stair stepper for 20mins.
10 min. cool down
(I usually do tae-bo as well, but didn't feel like it this morning.)
I will do my weight training later on this evening. I have a Crossbow machine at home.

Hi Andrea! I'm glad that you started a journal because it will really help you with achieving your goals, especially with the advice of knowledgable people. I'll be checking your journal a couple of times a week to see how you're doing. WELCOME ABOARD!

Good to go Andrea !! Stick to it and show us what you're made of. Maybe I should start one too since everyone else has a journal.

Hey Amy, I've been told numerous times that lots of cardio burns fat and that's my main goal right now. Anna, Diana, Ryan, & Amy.....Thanks for all the support so far!!

Welcome to the world of journals - it's a great way to make yourself stick to a routine. This group will call you out if you miss workouts or start slacking.

the journals definitely help andrea. especially for someone like me, who manages to lose his written journal about every 5 minutes.
damned nice work on the cardio, that's a LOT. and it takes dedication to get up that early. congratulations and good luck

Yeah cardio burns fat. By adding in weight training it will burn fat and build muscle to make that transition faster.

Lady C, would you recommend doing cardio and weight training in the same day?

you can do that, but youd want to do the weight training before the cardio. id say just do a 3 day a week routine with the weights or so.

If you do both on the same workout definitely do weights first. I personally do a three day weight routine with cardio on the days between.
Day 1=chest & shoulders
Day 2=cardio
Day 3=back & triceps
Day 4=cardio
Day 5=legs & biceps
Day 6=cardio
Day 7=Off
