Yeah sunmedic that's exactly what can happen. The old thing about don't lift if you are sick below the neck - it does have some merit.

Back
CDL.....250x4,4,5 (F,I)
BOR.......170x3x6 (R,I)
P/U.......BWx3x10 (F,I)

Nutrition - on track so far. Best day in a week. About time too.

Comments
I woke this morning feeling pretty good. After being sick for a week, I was ready for a good day. Ended up vomiting twice during the back workout. Lost a bit of strength on my deadlifts. BOR's were OK. Lost some strength on pullups. Stuff happens when one is dehydrated and not eating enough in spite of best efforts for a whole week. The feeling good is apparently relative, I still feel the best I've felt all week, but still not 100%. Still, not a terrible workout. Lost no poundages, just some reps. I'll get them back, probably by next back day. Tomorrow is chest/abs. I'm going to keep trying to eat enough today and see how that goes. Depending on energy levels, I'll get back to cardio either tonight or tomorrow.

Good news - no accidents during deadlifts. Bad news, I'm not ready to attempt playing "Iron Man" or "Stairway" with flatus safely just yet.

Cool man - you got those weights all set up now? It might take a bit to get used to the thicker Oly bar. When I switched from an old standard bar to the Oly a few years back it took a few workouts to grow accustomed to that change.

Nope, trip to pick them up got postponed when I got sicker again. Probably tomorrow or wednesday. I haven't even been out to the gym yet today...I'm waiting for my wife to get home. My little one now has what I've had. Can't leave her in the house alone. She is going from two directions since 3am. I'm staying busy trying to keep fluid in her so she doesn't dehydrate. Right now the local hospitals are actually full - no beds left with people having this same problem.

I'm still not quite well myself, but well enough to do chest and abs I think. At least today I'll be able to do kneeling cable crunches on my setup instead of seated on her machine - I fixed the tower last night. Finally got the pulley I needed from the auto-parts store.

Chest
Flat Bench......160x4,4,3 (F,I)
Incline Bench.....140x3x4 (F,I)
Decline Bench.....150x3x4 (F,I)

Abs
Kneeling Cable Crunch.....115x3x8

Lots of failures on bench today. Lost some reps, but not any weight so it isn't all bad. Considering my current malnourished, dehydrated state - I'll take what I got and be happy with it - including being pinned 3 times. Being pinned just tells me that I gave it all I had to give in spite of the way I felt. At least the little one is feeling better today. Still having to really push fluids for her - I just make her drink when I make myself drink. Neither one of us really wants to eat - but we are eating. My current foods are shameful based on my goals - the chicken and rice are still there (just not staying long), but so is low fat ice cream and popsicles. Along with diet mountain dew and anything else I feel that we can hold down or in.

The little one loves it - she's calling it "cheating with dad on his food".

Woo Hoo, finally felt well enough. Went down and picked up the new iron today. It's waiting for me in my gym for Tuesday morning's leg workout. It's a pretty decent looking Golds gym set. I just got the bar, plates, and collars. I've got over 350lb of standard plates and plenty of adjustable dumbells for them - so now I can just leave the dumbells set up in the varying weights that I use with them. The curl bar hasn't been used in ages so there was no need to get another one of those to fit the new plates either. I still need to pick up a few 2.5's though...they didn't sell those. I wonder if K-mart has them...I'll have to check.

Legs
Squat...........195x3x6
SLDL............195x3x6
Calf Raise.....265x3x10

A crappy workout is better than no workout. If I don't get some food in and keep it in I think things are just going to get weaker and worse.

Decided not to do the isolation machine work today.

Yesterday I tried 4 times to eat. I think I may have gotten in 900 calories - and didn't keep those in. Even my favorite food, which I figured the extra fat could slow the food movement down a bit (chili colorado with beans and rice) - normally I'm all over that like a Grizzly on Timothy Treadwell...yesterday I just looked at it, ate 3 bites, and gave up.

Today I have managed to get in 3 shakes...2 protein, 1 dextrose/creatine, and 1/2 a bowl of cereal. I've got an appointment to see the doc tomorrow if it doesn't get better. Time to get some cultures done - 12 days indicates it isn't the same virus everyone else in the world has had - because they were all better in 3 days. I can't stand losing any more weight - I've lost 3 pounds in 12 days.

Dude...you have lower intestinal problems and you actually considered eating "chili colorado with beans and rice"?

Hello...

Well I've been eating BRAT for almost two weeks. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. Tried chicken & rice soup, chicken broth, chicken sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, eggs, anything mild I could think of...didn't work. I thought it was worth a shot...it wasn't.

LOL, I laughed at this then immediately felt guilty. Have you seen the documentary yet?

Don't worry about diet right now. Yur body is going through a rough spot and won't feel right until it's able to process the nourishment it needs to let you push your normal weights.

To look on the (macabre) bright side, think of the killer 6-pack you'll have from this forced starvation.

Yeah, I did. Sadly, he couldn't get the lens cap off the camera while being eaten so that part was left out. It's just too hard to have sympathy for a self aggrandizing idiot who chose to put himself in harms way to pat himself on the back for no good reason. Anybody who acclimates large predators to human presence and teaches them that we are food really deserves to become the butt of many jokes for a long time to come. Besides, "all over it like a great white on a fat kid riding a rubber raft" was getting old - about 30 years old.

Decent workout today. Made some increases. Need to do some repeats next time. I was able to eat more yesterday and actually keep some of it in. Today, the eating is a little better still. Things are looking up.

Even from yesterday's puny weights, my hamstrings and glutes are terribly sore today. I guess as long as the muscles are doing everything they are capable of, it's a good start.

Fat too high, protien too low - still, it's food, it's in, it's staying.

Woke this morning feeling great. Decided to take my kids snowboarding first then workout later. Should have worked out first.

Many trips up and down the hill - a very long and steep hill. Most of the trips up were carrying at least 90 pounds of kid (sometimes other kids too - pulling them in sleds) plus whatever the boards weigh (not much). How many trips - I lost count. We had a blast. I'm too tired, my legs and butt are too sore to go on. I took a nap instead of having shoulder day.

I've never gotten on a steep slope boarding before. Some 16 year old girl gave me lessons today. Then my 16 year old daughter got pissed and sat in the truck for an hour pouting. Apparently she didn't like me getting lessons from her friend. Then some 12 year old boy helped me out. I moved to the big hill and had a blast. Busted my a$$ a few times...these 36 year old bones don't bounce as well as they did when they were younger.

That's my activity for the day.

Sounds like a fun cross-training day. I'd chalk it up as a workout day.
