Comments
Legs are still not doing what I want them to do. Because of the back still being stiff - not painful, but the muscles are still pretty tight, I didn't want to push it. On squats, I could only get 2x6 with 200, then had to drop down to 4 reps for the last set. It will get better next time. I'll make sure I eat more the day before leg day. SLDL - just maintained with the same work as last time - can't risk a back injury. Improved on everything else.

Cardio - got all 5 miles today. No time for cardioglide.

Diet - getting the calories up there a little better. I think I'm getting too much fat from my PWO shakes. When they are gone, I'll get some with less fat in each one. If I'm going to add mayo to my chicken and tuna, I'll need to cut out the steak with breakfast too. I guess I can handle chicken for breakfast for a while. Or I can just start using mustard to wet the tuna and chicken a little bit with. Nasty, but won't choke me like eating them dry would.

Why do you want to add mayo? Isn't that 100% fat?

He said he was getting too much fat from PWO shakes. I imagine those are more calories/healthier than mayo...

I'm sure they are. I'm eating my 2 boiled eggs with a can of chicken mixed together for breakfast right now. It is too dry without something to moisten it. I ended up adding 2 tbsp of mayo to get it down. It still isn't very good. Right now, I'm considering just going with a couple of PWO shakes or protein bars for breakfast. Sometimes this stuff is OK to eat, sometimes (like today), it is just nasty. I guess it is my ribeyes I've had for breakfast the last couple of days, they've spoiled me.

Yes the mayo is 100% fat, and not healthy. But, I'm having to re-learn how to eat in order to bulk, I'm trying to cut some fat out since I'm increasing my carbs. The fat has been good to me the last year and a half - lost a great deal of weight, built a tiny bit of muscle, improved my cholesterol drastically - all on a very high fat diet. I went from a 34 year old expected to die at any time to a very fit - soon to be 36 year old. Or at least I look very fit and healthy. Now it is time to try to bulk some - and of couse I don't have a clue what I'm doing.

Enjoy it. Today is Good Friday and I am fasting. Later on in the day, 2 hardboil eggs with a can of chicken (with our without the mayo) will sound pretty good.

Id give you my opinion on a bulking diet but I may be "out of the box" compared to the rest of the people here.

Fasting? That is harsh. But one who skips food to practice their faith does get my respect. I guess later on, anything - even a "fear factor" meal would seem tasty. I did the comunion thing last night - the "...this do in remembrance of me" thing.

I just think as long as you watch your protein intake, you should enjoy you bulking diet. Live a little. This is the time where you can go out and eat food you can't eat on a cutting diet. SO DO IT! Don't be so worried about staying 100 calories over maintenance. JUST have fun dude. If you see your putting fat on too fast, then cut back a little bit, but don't be so anal.

On a bulking diet you can hinder yourself if you're too strict about it, seriously.

That does sound like a more fun way to do it. But, only a couple of weeks into it, and my abs are almost gone. I don't really understand it - I seem to be storing some fat, but my vascularity is getting better on my arms, across my shoulders, onto my chest. I thought fat storage would hide the veins.
