I was laboring through a set of hammer curls yesterday when a hottie walks over to the DB rack where I was standing. I cranked out the last two reps all casual-like even though I thought my biceps were going to burst. Freaking biology...

Oh come on! I'm sure women only wear tiny shorts and sports bras in the gym cause they're "functional" . Its the same reason I wear sleeveless shirts, I wanna be looked at!

At my house looking is fine. Touching is not. I guess it isn't anyway - never actually thought about it. After 13.5 years, I don't think I'll start now. But, whatever motivation for that extra rep or extra step one can get, one should use.

Pull Ups.........5x10

Cardio
Walk..........5 miles

Comments
Today's back workout was killer, but good. I put so much into the deadlifts that I almost didn't have it in me to get my pull ups. I'm almost back to where I was before I lost my strength. When I tested my 1RM a couple of months back, I could only get 300 for one and was so wiped out that I could not continue. Today 290 for 3 singles. I thought I could do more, but after the last one, things went dark and I had to stagger to the wall and sit down for a minute. A small vagal response and near syncope, no big deal, but time to stop. I'll get more next week.

I don't know if I'm doing right or not, but instead of tap and go on DL, I started setting it down, breath one - re-grip, breath two butt down, breath 3 PULL. I feel stronger this way and hopefully this will keep me from hurting my back.

Cardio was good today, no weaking out in the middle of it. I'll be ready for serious cardio when it is time to cut. I was worried about it my first day out.

What you're doing with deadlifts is fine. Tap and go in my opinion doesn't count as doing real reps...same thing as bouncing the bar off your chest for benching. Most people have a slight pause and breath at the bottom, but if you need to regrip too that's fine. No harm done I wanna see you pull 315 Andy. I'll give you 4 weeks

I wanna see me pull 315 too...going to be longer than 4 weeks I imagine though. Next week, I'm trying for 6 instead of 3. Then I'll try 295 or 300. Right now, my buttcheeks are too sore to even think about any kind of DL's for a couple of days at least.

lol. 295 and 300 will both feel great for multiple singles. After those it should be smooth sailing to 315

I used to defend the "tap and go" method, but in all honesty they are easier than setting the weight down completely first.

The method is in the title: a dead lift. That to me always implied that there should be no momentum involved. Lift. Lower. Set. Lift again.
