08-24-2004 - kept getting called in for work, no chance to work out until late then too tired.
08-25-2004 Did two workouts today legs/back, chest/shoulders. This seems to be becoming a habit.
Legs/Back
Pull Ups...............4x10
Squats..............165x4x6
Deadlift............165x4x6
Calf Raises.........165x4x6
Bent Over Row.......120x5x6
Increased weight on Squats, Deadlifts, Calf Raises, and had enough in me left over to do an extra set on the bent over row that I had not planned for. I will increase the reps next time to get ready for increasing the weight on this one. The others, I will repeat today's workout next time.
Chest/Shoulders
Military Press................85x4x6
Upright Row...................90x4x6
Bench Press..................125x4x6
B. Flyes..............90x3x6, 90x1x4
Shrugs-Front.................165x4x8
Shrugs-Back..................165x4x8
Increased weight on bench press and butterflyes, increased reps on shrugs.
Next time - increase reps on military press, upright row, bench press, butterflyes, and increase weight on shrugs.

The last few days have been pretty hectic, bloody, and tiring. I missed my 8-26 arms/abs workout - just too fatigued to do it. Worked on 8-27 - no lifting that day. On call on the 28th. Got my legs/back that day between having to run back in to work all day and half the night. Then today got my chest/shoulders. I seem to be back on track and have today and tomorrow off, except for working around the house tomorrow and teaching a class tomorrow night. Today's workout was not as good as I hoped it would be, but I did work each part to failure, it just took less than expected to get there.
8-28-2004
Legs/Back
Squats.................165x4x8
Deadlifts..............165x4x8
Calf Raises............165x4x8
Bent Over Row..........120x4x8
No pullups this time, forgot to do them at the start and tried at the end of the workout and had no energy left, only did three and my grip gave out completely. Maybe one workout off from them won't hurt me too much.
08-29-2004
Chest/Shoulders
Military press.....85x2x8, 85x1x6, 85x1x4
Upright Row........................90x4x8
Bench Press.....125x1x8, 125x1x7, 125x2x6
B Flyes............................90x4x6
Shrugs/front......................170x4x6
Shrugs/back.......................170x4x6
Got pinned by the 125 when I tried to go for #7 on that last set. One day, maybe I'll learn not to try for that one extra when I could barely get the one before up. But, sometimes I make it. I was able to roll it down my body onto my legs and after a few minutes get up. I'm afraid when I actually get to benching a real weight this might become a problem. I guess I should have listened to Clint Eastwood in Magnum Force when he said "A man's got to know his limitations". Of course if we paid attention to our limitations, none of us would improve ourselves.

Arms/Abs
BB Curls...............85x4x8
Skull Crushers.........75x4x8
DB Curls...............35x4x8
Tate Press.............30x4x8
Crunches...............65x4x6
Leg Raises...............4x30
Tricep Pressdown.......70x4x8
Managed to increase the reps on BB curls, Skull Crushers, DB curls, Tate press , and tricep pressdown today. Will increase weight on each of these next arm day except the tricep pressdown, I need to repeat today's workout on these again.
Increased weight on crunches today work on reps for these next time. Repeat the leg lifts reps again next time.
Something weird happened yesterday, My left bicep and left deltoid started twitching - just parts of the muscle contracting and relaxing for several hours. Not painful, not like a spasm, just incessant contractions of the muscle. Pretty odd but it seems to be gone today. I hit the arms pretty hard today maybe they will be too tired to do it today.

Well you did over 20 sets that day , all involving arms so I can see why the muscles would be twitching but not for several hours? Maybe you put out extra effort on the left side? Are you right handed?
After I work out I am shaking and twitching a lot too, although not for several hours....
hmmmm.....

The twitching was the day and night before the arm workout. It was mostly gone by arm morning. After the arm workout, they were too wiped out to twitch. Hasn't happened much the last couple of days, just a few minutes here and there.

They do get easier, when I first started lifting, I could only do about 60 pounds on this one - with bad form. But, if you notice the correction, I hit the 7 instead of the 2. It is only 125, not 170. They do get easier, but not that much easier -- yet.

Today, no MS symptoms: no weakness, vertigo, numbness, tingling, pins & needles, vision problems, or any of the stuff that messes up my workouts. There is no excuse for today's pitiful performance. I will do better.
Military Press...............85x2x8, 1x7, 1x5
Upright Row............................95x4x6
Bench Press............125x1x8, 1x7, 1x6, 1x5
B Flyes................................90x4x6
Shrugs/Rear...........................170x4x6
Shrugs/Front..........................170x4x6
Military Press - Only able to increase reps slightly, I had hoped to do better today...I have been improving things more lately and was disappointed that this was all I could do.
Upright Row - Did increase the weight as planned. Will use same weight next time.
Bench Press - This one was bad today. Actually lost one rep today. I should have been able to increase reps. On the first set, on rep #8, I felt a painful tearing sensation in my left shoulder right on the front of the joint. After the rest period, there was no pain. So I continued with my workout. No pain during the rest of the bench presses, but crepitus was present during each rep. The shoulder hurts like crazy tonight. I had to take tylenol, it did not help...I would pick tonight to be out of ibuprofen, darn. Next time, I will drop back to 4x6 - maybe for a couple of workouts.
B Flyes - These felt stronger than last time, still only did 4x6, will repeat this again next time. Not ready to try to increase these just yet.
Shrugs - Felt strong on these, will increase reps next time.

Take it easy now. You don't want to hurt yourself.

No, I don't. The shoulder feels pretty sore today, just a little "clicky" in the joint. I had a pretty good arms/abs workout today and the shoulder was no problem. I will post it tonight when I get back from my cardio.

Arms/Abs
Increased weight on all but the crunches and tricep pressdowns today. Increased reps on the crunches.
BB Curls...............90x4x6
Skull Crushers.........80x4x6
DB Curls...............40x4x6
Tate Press.............36x4x6
Crunches...............65x4x8
Leg raises...............4x30
Tricep Pressdown.......70x4x8
The shoulder was no problem during the workout. It is pretty sore now, but then again, so is everything else. I feel good about today's workout. I think I will enjoy going to work and not lifting tomorrow though. Maybe nothing will happen and we will get to sleep all day.

I'm always a little "clicky" in my shoulders, esp on DB flys. I've been taking that glucosamine chondroitin, it seems to really be helping, especially w/ right wrist and elbow......
