I took another look at the video and now I see that you were barefoot, so I can better understand why your running form looked the way it did.
So I stand corrected. You didn't run like an old lady . . . just a middle-age lady.

I can live with that!
Funny, for the first time I've been getting recovery days where just my hamstrings ache, no other part of my leg muscle group. I think/hope that is a good sign.

That's a good video. There are 2 ways I do them, like in the video "breaststroke style without them meeting in the front and outstretched in front the whole time, one over the other.
I'll have to try this bendy-elbow variation that the others at CCF do. I don't think I'd want my feet to bounce me all over the gym floor like some do.

So looking over were "I've been" and "where I'm at right now" I've learned a little something about metabolism winding down and about putting on weight (bulking? NOT!!!)
I haven't been really structured with 5-6x a week workouts for the last 6 weeks. I've instead been doing 2 crossfit workouts a week. I find that I am able to stay fit at this rate but my appetite is less fired up. I can still and do eat a boat load of what most fitness minded dieter think is crap (whole milk dairy products, cookies, alcoholic beverages. waffle and ice cream sandwiches, and chocolate). I'm really bored with eating the empty calories. I'm done with it without even abusing my consumption of it!
The good news is that I am 131 lbs now and I feel awesome 24 hours a day. The bad news is that I really have to work it when I do workout. My workouts are hard whether it is because I am taxing my self with my lifestyle or I've learned to push harder I don't know.
A few weeks ago I was wondering what else to do to combine with crossfit. Here's what happened The local city gym looks good and the hours and equipment are fine. The BJJ classes are just to darn far away (40 min.) I didn't get out there on time to do the freebee class. If I'm still around in the fall I may try then.
The yoga studio special was a real possibility but I needed to talk to them about what they offer. The location was fine but they were never open when I dropped in at 3 separate times of the day and they were never there to answer the phone. Meanwhile half of June is gone so I'm not interested in their special June price.
I'll likely join the gym again. I must have done some serious damage to my shoulder with the snatch and push presses a while ago. I still can barely reach behind me without pain or have any strength at all for upright rowing motions on the rt side.
Tonight it's crossfit at the alternate affiliate Crossfit NCR (national capital region). Tomorrow I'll buy a city fitness centre pass. If I shrink too much it's a matter of cutting back on workout frequency not eating more food that will help.
My younger son decided Calgary is not for him and came back home. He's going to do Crossfit foundations this month ! Whoo hoo I can't wait until he's done. We have this ongoing thing where we test our strength by seeing if we can still pick each other up. I can still lift up and carry my baby, but he's an armful now.

I think he said he was 143lbs. He was 150 last winter and boy did I notice that since he had gained about 25lbs at college!
Did Xfit tonight. It was hard but felt good.
Practised:
the "climber" machine
Back extensions
GHd situps
L-sits
KB snatch - one arm
WOD - 5 rounds of:
10 KB one arm snatch (alternate every 5)
10 KB one arm swing (alternate every 5)
10 burpees
Time: 12:24
6 rounds - Tabata "climbers" 216'
Yeah! we did stretches. Got to train with the Greely training team. Nice people and great workout. I can't wait to set up a home gym now. It's going to be awesome someday!

Nice job on the WOD!
For doing 50 burpees in there that looks like a very good time!

I agree that's a great time for something that included 50 burpees! how do you like those KB snatches? I have a lot of trouble controlling it. I think Dave said I generated too much power, then the KB goes slamming against my forearm! Do you have trouble with that or are you able to control it?

I got the control, baby! These guys actually didn't have the right in-between weight KB for us girls. What a joke when they asked us to try using 32lbs!!!! . I had to be real careful because I am finally healing the last bits of my rt shoulder. It is noticeably weaker in that I subconsciously baby it.
Apparently My hip "pops" are really good when using the KB.
BTW - My burpees suck big time. I had to tell Laurette "I'm not listening, but don't take it personally" when she was trying to coach my burpee form in round 3. She laughed and said don't worry BTDT. She was trying to get me to do more than singles at a time.
