BRATTITUDE - Chapter 3, SPRING/SUMMER'07 UPDATES AND MILESTONES
I won't be making daily entries as I am in maintenance/ lower priority mode. This journal is my place to record things like fitness milestones or achievements that I have made. The update part is to once in a while post what I've been up to or special training I've been taking.
It's doubtful I'll journal food again yet, but an incredible feast could get entered.

Today at CCF
SOS - Killer workout 35:59, I was ahead of the youngin's until the very end.
Today's milestone was an awesome surprise. I did 6 rope climbs in the warmup, 3/4 of the way up and on one of them I made it to the top and reached up to touch the roof rafters. My natural instinct on how to decend garnered kudos! Shocked me, I totally get the rope climbing technique .
The WOD was:
Quote:
Skill: Kipping Pull-Ups, Snatch
WOD - For time:
pull-ups 75 (jumping)
run 400m
snatch 75 (20#)
run 400m
burpees 75
lay down in a sweaty human mass 1
If you're going through hell, keep going.
Winston Churchill

Brat! Awesome video, thanks for sharing! You did great, but I could tell you were spent on those burpees (I don't blame you I look the same way when doing them, like omg will this ever end?!).
I like how Pierre addresses each of you in his blog post, that's very encouraging and motivating I bet. How fun that there are only 3 of you too. Oh and that dude who just learned kipping pull-ups does them pretty dang well for just learning! Great video, looks like you had fun!

You are tough as nails Brat! Everyone who has been there can appreciate the fatigue that is evident in watching the video clip. It's such a familiar and recognizable look.
I think you can gain some efficiency with the burpees by going faster during the pushup portion of it. I know - easier to say than do.
You could be sitting in a rocking chair knitting but you are choosing to visit pedal-to-the-metal land every now and then. I have alot of respect for you.

Oh boy those burpees were extra tough after everything else I had done. I was actually15 burpees ahead of the other guys when they started but my upper body strength just caved (one of those guys is 14 and the other is early 20s)! I still finished within 1 and 3 minutes of them.
If I could have done a faster PU I would have. I only had to crawl back up without a pushup on about 5 of them out of 75!

Thank you all for the feedback! I was really busy with non-workout priorities this week so it gave my bruises and shoulder a chance to heal. I'm getting that nagging deltoid stress again. The one that got to me 2 years ago from the type of work I do. Now I remember Ironman's golden advice.... "do light cuban presses regularly in warmups."
I did deadlift up the front end of a powerboat on a trailer last week though... now that is functional fitness (a motivation of mine) in action!
Tomorrow we are doing the WOD on the beach! I'm am so totally there. It is a long weekend for us here so we should hopefully attract some new members.

T'was deceivingly simple yet taxing! Damn my weak heart and lungs. I'd do it again though.
My time was 9:something. I'm sure there will be a photo posted up on the CCF blog.
