I felt the onset of a “cold” Monday. I was hoping it wasn’t going to be a bad one, but it is. I actually stayed home from work this morning. I’m not complaining just letting everyone know what’s up. It may be a result of not sleeping well while out of town last week. It is what it is. This will mean missing the 4th and 5th day of planned work-outs for the year.
I’m hoping I’ll be over it enough to get my scheduled weight work-out in on Saturday. If I feel good enough on Sunday to “row”, I’ll have to back off a bit from what is scheduled.
Thanks for reading
Dan

Sick with a cold. Felt the onset on Monday. I was hoping it would be mild, but no such luck. I was home from work yesterday morning. Last night I couldn't quit coughing.
That said I missed two planned workouts this week due to the cold, which makes 5 for the year. The way this thing has set in I'll be really lucky to be back at it this weekend, but I staying as positive as I can.
The first 3 days were missed this year were from lack of sleep.
Makes you wonder how normal this is. Not complaining--just trying to figure it out.
Thanks for reading

eeeek this cold is really going around. almost everyone in my office and most of my clients have people in their offices out with this thing. rest up and drink lots of fluids (i know you already know that though!). and like pierini said eventhough it is frusterating it's just a small hiccup in your fitness journey. lol geez pierini has all the good sayings i find myself quoting him often!
i bet you will be back with a vengance very soon.
take care of yourself!

Hey guys
I’m still sick although I should be able to get in something this weekend. I won’t be able to do any aerobics yet as the infection is still deep in the lungs.
I apologize for not posting while sick, but it’s just too painful to do so when I can’t train.
I’ve been able to get out and golf a bit because the weather has been so nice, which has keep me somewhat active.
And thanks for the encouraging PM Mr. P. It was refreshing hearing from you as sick as I’ve been lately.
Dan

Thanks for asking Brat.
I’ve been reading your journal and admire your consistency. I’m admittedly a bit jealous.
If you remember I was sick for a while but am better now. I’ve been working out as much as possible. Not real happy with my diet or sleep pattern but I’m convinced it will take a complete life style change to get my overall fitness in order.
Life is about trade-offs.
I'm not going away
Good hearing from you Brat
Dan

Thanks for responding to my "nosey-ness" and thanks for the compliment. I mentioned once before that I sometimes focus on the wrong thing as a way of procrastinating on another higher priority. "guilty"
I have non-fitness things I should be doing more of while my fitness activities are exceeding what's necessary for my goals.
With that in mind I'm sure your trade-offs are not excuses. Not forgetting about the need for fitness in a perfectly balanced life is enough to get you there. As long as you keep getting back to it you will not be so fragile as someone who scoffs at it. As far as I'm concerned, someone who keeps walking or gardening for the health benefits is as impressive as crossfitters and marathon runners. It's all good!
Keep checking in.
