Darkangel's CKD Diet

Hey all. Well i have finally decided to try out this diet. I would like to have lost my weight just running and eating right but i cannot do that at the time being. I will post you what form of the ckd im doing in a few minutes. I am hoping to lose a good 20 - 30 pounds before going back to a normal diet.
When i go back to my normal diet i will slowly add carbs so as not to baloon and make sure to jog every morning just in case. I will report back in a few minutes.

OK I am ready to start begining today few questions...

1. How many carbs can i have post/after workout?

2. How about on the weekends?

3. As long as i keep it clean what ratio of fats to proteins should i have usually?(and do i really have to limit myself to meager amounts of food)?

4. Once i go down to my weight that i want how do i keep it off?

hey darkangle, good to see you trying this. I think youll really like it.

1. People usually have around 30 grams of dextrose post workout (dextrose works best). Start at 15 though, and work your way up to 30... keep in mind some people cant handle 30 post workout.

2. On the weekend, http://www.users.voicenet.com/~petri...s/ckdcalc.html
that should help you.

3. people usually do 60-75% fat and 25-30% protein.

4. Slowly add back in carbs and eat at mantainince level.

the first week you do CKD, skip the carbload.

Hey glad to see you joining the club.
I would just start with your 20 or less carbs and go straight for it, then don't carb up this coming weekend.

Save you first carb load for thanksgiving weekend

I dont know if i can function properly for that long. So lets say i started yestyerday(or today technically) im not sure what time it is lol. When would i be able to carb up? The following wednesday correct? Or should i just do it when i feel the need to? Also, will this diet affect my HGH/Hormone levels?(will i still grow normally)

I have decided to start my weight training even harder. I will have a nice and big whey protein shake with simple sugars afterwards but i will make sure to warm down with some cardio.

Hoping to lose 3 pounds a week at least as i lost around 5 a week even without the low carb diet when i dropped my cals to 1900 a day.

Today is Saturday, You can wait until tommorow to start the keto. Keto unti the 28th, which is a Friday, then you can carb up. Do your workouts like normal, working out hard during the week can take the place of the depletion workout if you are going hard enough.

Also, during the CKD, the scale isn't the best indicator of how much fat you've lost since you are playing with your muscle glycogen so much (water weight). Try using a tape measurer and see how much your thighs, stomach, hips, chest, and other body parts are losing/gaining. That is of course unless you have a bodyfat caliper and can use it regularly.

It's insanely cheap. Try 1fast400.com or any other health foods or supps site. Or you could just slam some Smarties (USA smarties) after. Keto is right, no fructose on this diet.
