Ok, I couldn't get round to this for a day or so, and now look whats happend !! Carb cycling !? Dude! no no no no no!!! Please no!

To gradually drop bf% and maintain along with progress in strength and muscle fibres I would use the following ::

940cals/day :: P r o t e i n
940cals/day :: C a r b o h y d r a t e s
520cals/day :: (Un) S a t F a t s

Total :: 2400cals/day

As you can see, this sticks to the 40/40/20 schema which is overall best ratio for trying to accomplish that hard goal. It assumes the values, 213lbs @ 18% bf, 176lbs LBM. With this, only do two, or if things get bad - an absoloute max of three HIIT sessions a week for no longer than 20 - 25mins. Delicate balance of cardio is needed to try and keep chemical levels good for building muscle.

The thing that i like about this diet is that i can do it without having to count every single calorie, something that i need. Why would you not recomend it? A few bodybuilders at avant labs are doing it and i know many others as well. It says i shou,ld be able to keep most if not all my muscle and it is not that hard to follow. I will report back with all that i ate at the end of the day.

Hmmm, always been a bit wary of carb diets not sure why people feel the need to do them...done a CKD and TKD myself and never again, totally pointless diets, quite hard to stick to and the workouts on non carbup days, well....they're not the best workouts in the world that's for sure.

Thats the thing, this isn't a no carb diet. On my low carb days i eat approxiametely 220 grams of carbs, and on high carb days i eat as much as i want so long as it is 5 meals or more or fairly clean.

That means there is a total of 4 days that my carbohydrate intake is at least average.

Hi DarkAngel! I think what Lee has suggested is actually a great plan if this is your first time cutting. When you are doing a Carb Cycle such as the one you posted, you will need to cycle the carb with No, Low and then High. On your rest days or your cardio days, you will have to eliminate all of your carbs except fibrous ones. On the No carb days, most of the fat will come from supplements such as Flax seed oil and fish oil and some on protein. If this is your first time cycling with carbs, then you will notice a low decrease in energy especially on No carb days. Good luck!

Laura: I was alerady aware of that. I don't plan on supplementing with oils. Getting fats has never been a problem with me and most of my diet consists of chicken, tuna, and salmon so this shouldn't be a problem.

well chicken (no skin), tuna and salmon have virtually no fat, haha so where is this fat you are talking about? Noticing my diet lately without cycling somehow I have very little carbs to begin with and I have good workouts anyways, funny how we are both starting this today, good luck buddy, i'm at about the same bf% as you we'll see how each other does on this thing, good to have someone along with me. As lee would say....Cheers!

I was pondering and have a question:
My breakfast on low carb days as of now contains no carbs... i believe it would be better if it did and if i switched no carbs to lunch, but then i would be eating the same lunch for like 3 days a week: Salad + chicken? Any thoughts?

Current diet(up to now)
Breakfast - 3.5 egg whites, 1 egg yolk, half a breast chopped
Estimated Protein:? 30g + Eggs
Lunch - Milk(not sure exact distribution) 12 g protein, 12 g carbs, 5 grams fats(estimates).
Sandwhich w/salmon - 56 g carbs, 38 g protein, fats - 8.5(3.75sat)
Orange - 25 -30 g carbs ? not sure
3 pm - 3 breasts 126 g protein, 3 g fats, 6 grams carbs from sugar
6 pm pre workout - 2 pieces brown bread, 1 piece of chicken. - 56 g carbs, 50 g protein, 2 g fat
Post workout - Shake - cottage cheese + milk + banana - approxiametely 55 g carbs, 40 g protein, 15 g fat (approxiamete)
9 pm - can of tuna - 39 g protein, 1.5 g fat

I see you're eating the 5 meals instead of 6, looks good so far. God how can you stomach the brown bread!? The only thing I would say about the diet is that 126 grams of protein is a lot in one sitting and is drastically more than your other meals, might want to consider evening that out a little.
